I watch a lot of Florida games, I'm sorry, but I don't think he's worth the price Benning just paid for him. I like that he's a Canuck, but I'm appalled at the price paid. Once again Benning gets bent over on a trade.

He needs to be more assertive at the offensive end of the rink. He has been given a role of shutdown guy for the past 2 seasons. I think with prodding he can develop the other side of his game.

So gubranson is due for an absolutely terrible contract extension.

Count on it or Gudbrandsonis a UFA in two years.

You could probably swindle Demko from us.

Or Samsonov from the Caps...

Or Vasi, or Andersen, or Hellebuyck...

Larsen Hutton, like I said the summer is not over.

I get it. The D is better now for sure. To me this shows burrows and higgins will be bought out. Hopefully Sbisa can moved but it is very unlikely.

Also, I think they will now be signing UFAs.

I wanted the full rebuild. I see this as a ownership mistake.

I think what is confusing you is the fact that Canucks finally have a Dman now that can clear the net and protect the goalie.

Thats how I feel. I like the player but gave up alot for a guy who is going to need to be resigned with a very limited offensive game.

I'm not confused at all, I'm not unhappy about having Gudbranson at all, I'm disappointed in the price, once again, that Benning paid to get a dman of his caliber.

I think he's good at the defensive side of things, he's tough, he's physical, but until he finds some offence he's not worth a first and second round pick. That's my issue.

We already have a young team. We have this years pick , plus Demko and Boeser. How many prospects do we need. We need to develop them and build a competitive team at the same time.

If it was for a forward I would be p1ssed. Defence is a tough thing to acquire. The cost will always be high. He's a third overall pick and only 24. This is a good deal. Top pairing D. I'm not even mad at the picks given up.

I like Gudbranson. But wtf is benning doing giving up more draft picks? The guy just can't trade, he loses them all. It's (frank)ing frustrating that he's allowed to trade all our picks.

Not to mention Tryamkin, Pedan and Tate Olsen on defence......not the 'sexy' prospect but all likely solid NHLers....

I have to admit I don't understand you wanting Lucic but disappointed when we pick up EG.
You also wanted to trade the 5 th to pick up two picks and use one for the D. This trade here we get a better Dman than what we would have traded for and keep the 5 th which will probably give us our best forward.

I don't even know why you bother sometimes. You must really care. I have read some really outrageous and funny things here tonight. A whole lot of ball aching.

Unfortunately you have to overpay for D-Men. G's size and age make him worth much more than you guys realize.

For all the train wreck that SJ was last year look at how quickly things can change.

Pi$$ and moan all you want... Change is happening without your consent. Get on board... Or get out.

All this crying must be exhausting for some of you.

I dont agree with that. Toronto finally got it right over the last two years after 10 years of (frank) ups. I see the Canucks as the Leafs of old, trying to make the playoffs but we will never be good enough. The way I see it this team will be finishing with a 10-14th draft pick for the next while. So instead of Mathews, Marner and Laine we will be getting a Horvat or Virtanen.

We need lots of prospects as Demko and Boeser are good. But other than Hutton and Horvat im not sold on any other player under 25 in the system. Im really hoping we land Dubois in the draft.

If he blossoms into a true #2 Dman which I expect then he's well worth a 24th and 33rd selection.

My concerns with the deal are I was really high on McCann, and have been since he was drafted. I think he's a surefire #2C.

Thing is, you take that #2D over the 2C any day.

It doesn't change the fact we still need to find a #1 D, but our top 4 looks decent and young, and our D depth just got much better.

They now have Pedan, Gudbranson, Sbisa, Tryamkin, Larsen, Tanev, Hutton & Edler....last year Bennng said "I really like our defence when they're healthy" they proved to be one of the worst defences in the league.

The summers not over but I'm already disappointed in its beginning.

Logan Stanley would be around there.

Pretty much the exact same size as Gubranson
