We can all be happy watching Marner tear ass tonight.

Pretty cool if this result holds up that they'll be a game 7. Maybe to semi game 7s if the Blues can stay alive. Heh I said semi.

The most apt description I heard last year was from one of the play-by-play guys saying this Leafs team hangs around and hangs around and makes you beat them. They didn't just suck giant rhino turds and let the other team take a night off like before. Strange to say about a team that finished worse than previous teams, but it's true. They also did start to blatantly goalie-tank after the trade deadline.

I think what this shows is what systems and such can do. If you institute a proper system and the players play if well you'll get some positive results. The issues came down to talent. They played the system fairly well, but just couldn't convert on chances they got/create enough chances. That seems to be changing with infusion of more talent in the future.

Only tough nut is #1 defenseman - If we can move up in the draft into the top 15, Leafs will be able to draft a solid defenseman. Free agents (doubt they are re-signed by current clubs) Hedman and Burns - end of next season. If we can somehow fished #4 pick from Edmonton - we will be able to draft any defenseman this year.
