So there's a real possibility that Kadri (this past year's #1C) could be this year's #3C.

That seems like quite the upgrade up front.

Should be a good summer.

I’m expecting multiple trades. If they are able to add stamkos, it only increases depth and options for trades.

I think they’re going to try hard to get rid of lupul. I have no idea how, but am very interested to see if they can come up with something.

- Tumbleweed

To get rid of Lupul we would need an opposing GM who:

1) Is really desperate for some offense
2) Has not been on the internet or read a paper for 2 years
3) Has no pro scouts
4) Owes Uncle Lou a big favour

Brown, Sosh, Timo, Hyman...I could see one or two along with picks being traded for a Dman.
Or Bozak mixed in with one of the above.

But if you're are team willing to part with a young quality D...what are you going to want in return? A quality young player(s). Not sure Bozak fits that bill....as much as say a Kadri.

Edit:
Not saying trade kadri....relax Kadri lovers.

- Fakepartofme

In a package to get a d man Bozak will be just a piece. He has value. He's a 2/3 center who can get you 50 points.

Pastrnak for Lupul?

We could take a crummy contract like Seidenberg back

I agree

But I'm speaking to the folk who worry about contracts years from now.

Could you do a year by year salary cap projection for me.

It will help me sleep

The only reasonable starting D we could offer up to the Oilers in a package for #4 is Gardiner since Rielly isnt part of the discussion....it proves that our D needs major work as well, but is it worth trading Gardiner in a package to get #4?..and would the Oilers be interested in Gardiner?
- jimi james

That *could* be interested in someone like Percy but he isn't high value. I see Oilers wanting a stay-at-home D with a great first pass out of the zone..

Percy might be the odd man out if Leafs organization prefer Harrington..

Did I read this right?

Did the Leafs trade Phaneuf and took back no long term contracts, AND retained no salary?

I can't believe they did this.

I wonder if Zaitsev will pair up with Rielly or Gardiner

I also wonder if Zaitsev and Carrick make Gardiner expendable?.....

- jimi james

If Zaitsev is in your top 4 you're (frank)ed.

Canes fans got spurned as (frank) by the guy and now you're butthurt.

But you aren't butthurt because of Zaitsev
