You think Marleau would waive to come here ? I can see him or Nash ride LW with Eichel and Reinhart. Leaving another line of Kane-ROR-Ennis/Fasching/Bailey - Pegullaville
Not sure he'd be the type of target Murray is looking for due to his age.
But to answer the question, would he? Who knows. If I were him, I wouldn't.

Doug Whaley says rookie camp injury to Lawson could have been rehabbed to return in short term, but team opted for long term, complete fix.

Ok, I know it would be a massive over payment but....what would it take to get the #2, and draft Laine??? Eichel w/ Laine would be SICK!!!!!! - bobmack13
#8, Pysyk, and maybe a Carrier type prospect for #4. Draft Tkachuk and call it a day.

How much less would it take to move up to #4. Laine's scoring upside...make #2 happen GMTM. Plus that would steal a little of Toronto's thunder when they draft Matthews

Only way you get #2 is if Risto or Eichel are in the deal.
You, me, and everyone else knows they are off the table.
IMO Winnipeg isn't moving that pick. Maybe you could get Columbus to trade out but I even think that is a stretch.
They're either gonna try to move up to 4 or move #8 for a Faulk type defenseman.

Don't know a whole lot about Tkachuk aside from his father, and his work ethic. We have a bunch of work ethic guys, we need a pure goal scorer, and we need size if we are going to do anything in the playoffs.

And speed. This team is nowhere near as fast as the current contending teams.

I agree, but Laine's stock is through the roof right now. They would want to pillage us for that pick.

He's going to be a goal scorer just like his father.
He's 6-1 and in that 195-200 lbs range already.
Not afraid of the physical aspects of the game.
Had 53 points in his 1st 27 OHL games last year and ended up with 107 in 57.

It's scary how much he looks like his father!!!! So what does #4 cost??? - bobmack13
#8, Pysyk, and a Carrier type prospect gets the convo started IMO. Probably need to add another pick or two.
IMO Edmonton could walk away with 2 defensemen as they could draft one of the big 3 with 8 along with getting an established guy by trading #4. They could also trade 8 and get another NHL ready defenseman.
You don't get that without giving up something that we don't want to give up. This isn't even close. - Slump Buster
I don't want to give up Pysyk, does that matter? And they did trade the 16th and 33rd pick for Griffin Reinhart, and Chiarelli traded Seguin. So yeah I think Pysyk the 8th and mid rounder/ prospect for the 4th is reasonable.
Would you rather scenario:
Trade the 16th and 33rd pick for Griffin Reinhart
Trade the 4th for the 8th Mark Pysyk +
Trade Seguin for anybody

its probably not worth it for us to move the extra asset, and im not a fan of pysyk. at least one of the top 3 defensemen should be there at 8, all left handed and a pretty big organizational need. also, chiarelli said he wants to get bigger and tougher, i dont think pysyk even moves the needle. i wouldnt give up any more than that.
