Barrie, Ceci,Trouba,Dumba are the best targets to go for in a trade. - Retinalz
I would argue that Ceci is ALMOST untouchable.
Trouba would be very pricey.
Dumba would be a good target as he has been a healthy scratch last season.
Barrie I think will be expensive as well as there are probably 25 teams that need a d-man like him. |

Gillis had his Gilman . Three heads are better than one. - VANTEL
ironic that salary cap and negotiations are a lightning rod of criticism for Benning.
“Laurence’s core responsibilities were managing the salary cap and contract negotiations and he’s got a lengthy history with the game,” said Linden. “For the time being, both John (Weisbrod) and Jim (Benning) have a lot of years in the business and internally we havepeople who can help out.”
I hope they bring someone to help, but I would be surprised if Talon wants to come in as an assistant. |

This is what I have heard as well, to be the GM - JB would take a back seat role, less media, more scouting |

They would make an excellent tandem, I hope titles don't get in the way, if it is true. |

I havent heard any of the rumours outside of the last 30 Thoughts, but I could see Tallon being introduced as advisor or assistant to Trevor so that the titles line up where Tallon gets final say on trades/negotiations but keeps JB's feelings from being hurt over a demotion |

Like I said I heard Pratt mention this ( predicting it) 6 weeks ago before anyone mentioned Tallon given a different position.
I heard an insider guest maybe Dreger about three weeks ago say it could be possible but no one is admitting it yet. Now Freidman. |

I would ecstatic if he joined the organization in any form. Not that I don't respect our organization as is, but they seem to be missing an experienced piece of the puzzle. What a gem DT would be for this club. |

I'm just curious, but who do you think are any Hansen comparibles with respect to other team's players. He's obviously an excellent utility player, who can be slotted in pretty much anywhere, chips in some timely offense, and is a great team/low maintenance player (not to mention still being fairly young and having a very friendly cap hit) . These types of players are few and far between and a great asset to have on any team.
I've tried to think who might be a similar type of player but at the moment have come up with blanks so far, as there doesn't seem to be any one that particularly stands out who is in the same mould and with similar personal/physical attributes.
Any thoughts? - Zogg

Keep JV up and send McCann down(depending on what happens this summer)
Trade Hansen, B/o burrows if you can't trade him/he doesn't retire. Higgins will likely retire if he doesn't get traded. If not keep him and send him to Utica, we don't need his cap this season(likely same with Burrows)
bring in more change to sell this way while justifying McCann going down to Utica. - Retinalz
I don't see Hansen losing his wheels & keeping work ethic here is better.
Burrows will be sent to Utica or picked up. No reason for a BO IMO.
JM could use sime time in Utica & be a 1st call up when needed or if he shines. |

I dislike Dave Pratt as well as the next guy on here but I do have to give him credit about breaking the Dale Tallon story about a month and a half ago. He was all over it about DT being removed from his position about a month before it happened and was suggesting to take over GM of the Canucks.
The story won't go away and was now part of Friedmans 30 in 30. I would love to see DT and JB working as a team. - VANTEL
DT would be an awesome fit here. Hope it happens too. |

Absolutely. We need the right hand shot not only on the PP but badly in general. - LordHumungous
A top 4 PP RHD is the only way to go if Hansen is moved. I agree👍🏻 |

I'm not sure who would be within our grasp though. The Oilers would be able to pretty much outbid us on anything.

Nope. I don't see any scenario for us trading our 5th. Even trading down just seems counterproductive. |

Prolly right but if a deal is there do it & if not all good then do it at the TDL.
Even if traded in 2017 off season is fine IMO.
I see Hansen being good for a few yrs yet. |

True but much depends on what UFA(s) r signed & if any other roster players r moved. To the trade down only happens in my mind if JB sees something in a C further down & the 2nd part coming our way is a key prospect. JB wants to fill the age gap & 2 birds with one stone is the only plausible scenario IMO.
That said standing pat is very safe if no rock our socks deal is offered.
Logan Brown or Jake Bean both r intriguing further down the draft.
A trade down would occur after we make the 5OA or not at all til we see who fell to us. A wait n see hedge. |

One thing WD said the other day is Training Camp will be very competitive. That's the way it should be . Players need to compete every shift. No shifts off and no gifted roster spots.
There is nothing wrong with losing, but there is everything wrong with not trying hard. |

We have picks and prospects, we need players. We have the farm team building prospects year to year . I hope we need to keep in mind we only need to promote one or two every year to two years. We need to build the big team IMO.
Trading / packaging Hansen for a top 4 RHD is what we should be targeting this year. - VANTEL
If something like that is available, that would be great.
Hansen has been a great player but I think this is when you move him for max value, coming off a career year. We aren't winning the cup over the next two years, so why not move him and get a player that will be here longer and is younger. If mentoring is, needed, we still have Burrows and can sign a UFA. |

Descibes my thoughts on JM goin to Utica & UFA's being signed short term. |
