But he is a coach killer, out of shape and doesn't play defense so far better to have Daniel Franking Winnik in the lineup.....
And he eats hot dogs and got pissed at the meatheads throwing their Leaf sweaters on the ice. |

The pitts coach actually likes his play in his own end.
Keep it up kessel...Pitts is laughing at that trade right now. |

I have said this all along, only in Toronto is the solution to not enough skill to trade away the players with the most skill.
I read on this blog about guys now wanting to trade JVR for this, trade Kadri for that, move Gardiner for whatever.
Ridiculous. |

Do you mean trading Kessel gave us the best odds of the first overall pick and the salary cap flexibility?
Got it. All I am saying is the guy is a very good player who was not appreciated by a good chunk of the fan base in Toronto. |

most fans don't seem to pay attention to what the players do on the ice, and place more value with what they do in front of cameras in the pre and post game interviews. |

I liked Kessel while he was here and hope he has success in Pittsburgh, but he needed to go. His return would have diminished if he put up numbers like he did this past season and there may not have been a taker at all. When things are going well Kessel shines, but when the going gets tough he shrinks and you people know that. |

yup, and like you said, glad to see him killing it. Funny guess all he needed was players that played up at his speed to be able to apply and maintain those corsi numbers.
Edit: Him and Grabner would have been dynamite. |

Kessel deal looks great for Pitts right now - he is an elite scoring winger playing a key role. The fact that Toronto is eating $1.2 million till the cows come home adds a little salt. The truth of the matter is Toronto had to trade Kessel. They were not ready to compete yet and the salary - he was given by Nonis was retarded. The more important issue is what Toronto does at the draft. Filling in roster spots with affordable high ceiling players. I am confident. To emphasize this point look at one of the worst drafts in recent memory 2011. (2016 is expected to be an extremely deep draft by contrast)
Tampa had 6 picks Namestikov(27th), Kucherov (58th), Nesterov (148th) Wilcox (178th), Peca (201st), Palat (208th)
Toronto Biggs(22nd), Percy(25th), Leivo(86th) Nilsson(100th) Cameranesi(130th) Broll(152nd) Sparks(190th) and Everson (203rd)
Talk about good vs crappy drafting. Tampa - 4 true NHL players of six lower picks two of which are stars and Toronto has zero of their drafted players in the NHL.
A good reason why Tampa is still in the playoffs and the Leafs are shining up their golf clubs.

oh course they were....points are always easy in the conference final.
Replace Kessel's name with Kadri....and most on here would be stroking it and you'd singing a much different tune.
"Easy points" LOL always a reason.... |

any other player producing like him would be described with the following:
elite hockey sense
reads the play and finds the quiet spots and open lanes
great vision
amazing ability to finish
but kessel gets, those were easy points. |
