The only mitigating factor for Joey Bats is if you look at the video, he cocks his hand into a fist - so I'm sure Odor is going to argue he hit Bautista because Bautista was about to hit him.
Having said that, if I was the league, I'd suspend Odor for half a season. I can't believe that Bautista wasn't concussed - the size of Odor's arm, hitting him flush on the jaw - it was outright nasty. Like, assault charge nasty.
Baseball doesn't want poop like that - they were lucky Bautista didn't suffer a serious injury. - Atomic Wedgie
What I really didn't like is that I think he actually aimed at, and hit Bautista with the throw to 1st!
Look at the 44 and 50 second mark of this relay!

I don't think there was any time for Odor to read into his body language. He pushes him then socks him in the jaw. With a slow motion replay you can see Bautista making a fist but he didn't do anything with it so we're talking "maybes" at this point. |

if he's willing to take $1.25/year for 2 years, i suspect a 4 year deal at $2.5M/year would be more than enough to get it done.
LA would have a hard time matching that offer sheet.
The leafs don't need a bridge deal ... a longer term deal would be preferable.
Costs us a 2nd. We keep komarov and don't get stuck with that terrible gaborik contract.
what you proposed was just a terrible value deal for the leafs and that doesn't at all fit into what they need. - Tumbleweed
McNabb won't be a free agent. He'll sign an extension before July 1, meaning he won't be eligible for an offer sheet. The official Kings blog had a good report a week or so ago with both camps stating that they were close in numbers and just working out the details.
The reason they would do this deal isn't because they can't afford McNabb, but rather that they need to clear away the cap space from Gaborik to make room for Toffoli and Pearson next off-season. If there isn't a deal to be done, the Kings would just keep both McNabb and Gaborik for this season. |

Did I read correctly that Gibbons had already been thrown out of the game, and came back onto the field?
That's gotta be a suspension, no? - Atomic Wedgie
I just a video where some guys were discussing this another manger did the same thing and only got a fine.

Funny how Odor changed to a submarine throw for the first time ever!
Here's what the 15 double play throws on youtube look like!

I have no doubt he was trying to peg Bautista in the face! |

You should have some doubt
He caught the ball low and was forced to throw off-balance since he was avoiding the slide. That could be why he threw like that.
There's a decent chance he was trying to peg him given how he reacted after the fact but yeah. |

In that case try Buffalo. They might go for Gaborik straight up. |

That defeats the purpose of the Kings making the deal. They're trying to shed salary, not take more on. Moulson's cap hit is higher than Gaborik's. |

There was no market for ehroff … without another equally bad contract coming back.
Same thing will hold true for gaborik …unless lomardi figures out a way to make that contract completely disappear. He’s been pretty good at that.

Really? I thought Moulson's cap hit was 1.5m lower. My bad. |
