You jump on people for asking same question about Rask. You shouldn't ask this question. - glove_was_stuck
It's a hypothetical question... I'm not seriously saying we should trade Bergeron...
There's a difference between a hypothetical question and actually promoting the idea of trading Rask...
Do you want to discuss the hypothetical possible returns if we were to trade Rask? I'd love to hear the conversation....
Do you want to come here and say that Rask sucks, and that we should definitely trade him? Then yes, I'd probably jump on someone for that...
See the difference? |

I did and it was hypothetical when I did. You, along a few others, were the ones that lost your minds. So no. I don't want to discuss it with you. I only wanted to point that out. Good day. |

Was it really he didn't want to be in Boston or they didn't think he deserved the contract he got? I'm curious about the answer to this...I mean we'll never know 100%, but I guess we can all speculate...
It was more likely that Boston thought that Dougie was going to get too much money, too fast & wouldn't pay it, underestimating how valuable he was & was going to be for them! Then saying that he didn't want to stay (because he would't accept a lowball offer) |

I'm pretty sure the contract the Bruins offered him was more than what he signed for in Calgary. It had nothing to do with the Bruins not wanting him... it had everything to do with Dougie not wanting to play in Boston. |

The Bruins D is abysmal and would have still been with Hamilton. Defensively I just didn't see that Hamilton would have really helped. He contributes offensively and can move the puck well sure. However, the Bruins power play was also better this year.
I never thought once this year "The Bruins really need Hamilton" I have thought however "The Bruins could really use Seguin/Iginla/Boychuk/A Lobotomy" |

Doesnt surprise me. - dothedougie
Fluto's suckitude is second only to Kevin Paul DuPont. The Bruins don't need Vesey. They need a time machine for Chara and Seidenberg. |

I still think Spooner's our best trade chip. He had a good season, he's super cheap and still an rfa. Czarnik should be able to replace him. Spooner ++ should land us a top 4 D.
Give Rask another year behind a better team and if he struggles again trade him when his NTC loosens up - Shaundre93
Spooner might be an interesting guy to trade... I think he's a better fit on the wing than he is at center. If Eriksson moves on, then maybe we would be able to give him at shot on the wing playing with Bergeron and Marchand? I thought his best play all year came from when he was on the wing rather than center.
I think if Rask has another bad year, it could be really tough to trade him. A $7m goalie with two down seasons in a row doesn't sound like very enticing trade bait. Hopefully they can upgrade the back end and he'll return to form next season.
Personally I don't think trading Rask is a viable move until you have a bonafide replacement to take over. I think it's easy to forget how important a good goalie is since we've been lucky enough to have one for several years now.
But what do you think Rask would be worth if they were to dangle him out there? The only deal I heard that was remotely enticing was Rask to Anaheim for Freddy Andersen + a defenseman. I think that sounds fairly good, but since Anaheim has John Gibson, I don't think they make that trade. I think it would be tough to find a similar situation. |
