He'll be just fine - ob18
You don't know that.
This game could define his entire career. Matthews didn't just steal the puck off of his stick, he stole all of his mojo. |

Kane has never reached UFA status. If Kane was a UFA, what would he get? - MJL
It depends how much of your cap can be dedicated to one player considering age, on ice performance and any off ice situations. I would have a hard time justifying much more then 15 % of the total cap for one player. Granted, the cap is a sliding value from year to year.
With the Hawks it may be a long time till the toews and Kane situation arises again. Finishing their second contracts with already 2 cups won under the age of 27 and then won another after the negotiations for the third contract.
I just don't see a market where Stamkos will make more per year then toews and Kane. Of course anything is possible. |

I think 10.5M is a ball park number for Stamkos worth. The question is what happens if there is a bidding war between teams? Personally, I'd rather have Toews or Kane over Stamkos.

You and I are both old enough to pretty much have seen all of Brett hull s career. As he aged into his thirties certainly his skating diminished, but that shot was always there. I can see Stamkos aging similarly. Also Stamkos isn't a perimeter player exclusively but he seems to avoid a lot of unnecessary hits that lesser forwards endure. The leg injury was more of a fluke play.
The major concern I have with Stamkos is the blood clots. I don't have enough information or am smart enough to know if this problem will persist (see Chris bosh). IMO he will get over 9 million per year but won't get more then toews and Kane

Usually after the Flyers are eliminated. I end up rooting for good hockey and as I watch all the series', I will usually find myself rooting for a team more than the others. I've discovered tonight that I am rooting for St.Louis.
Not an unlikable player in the bunch. |
