I would almost rather move him sooner then later. I Know we could put him on LTIR if something happened like before but I would rather keep some salary and get an asset over waiting and maybe get nothing. - J35Bacher
I'd be in favor of moving him, but if there's no return that Hexy is comfortable with, it's not a horrible idea to keep him and see if he can bounce back. |

If the Flyers don't trade for a defenseman or Provorov (or any other D prospect) doesn't make it out of camp then I'd be ok moving Streit |

Question about return:
Would you move him for lesser return if you didn't have to keep salary or would you keep the salary and try to get a little more.
No salary and you get a 4th rounder?
Keep some salary and get a 3rd rounder?

So Hextall is not allowing players to say, "I didn't play up to my expectations," or, "I feel a little worn down?"
I wouldn't expect the guy to give a detailed medical report, but it seems like he's not aware of his level of play and/or being misleading on his health. - jmatchett383
I'm sure he's aware of both situations. Just speculating on why he would be less forthcoming as he normally is on this situation. |

Keep some salary and get a higher return. It's only for one year. |

In your hypothetical I'd take the 4th rounder and retain nothing. Gives you more room to take on a high salary, with only a year or two left, from someone else for a good return.
However, I don't think they'd get a 4th for Streit at the moment without retaining salary. |

I kind of feel the same.
I was trying to think if there are players that they would move at the TDL where they could use retaining salary and didn't want to use a spot on Streit but I am not sure they really have a player like that. The only guys I see that they could keep money to make a deal are Streit, MacDonald or Read. |

I think so.
I understand keeping him isn't this big deal since it's the last year but I don't see a great gain in keeping him either. I just don't see this great improvement that increases his value that much at the TDL.
I would retain some money and make a deal. |

They should only have to retain salary if they are sending him to a team tight on cap space. After July 1st he'll only be owed $2m. |

Even when he returned from injury and was playing, you could still see it impacted him: there were times earlier on in his return when he hesitated to shoot or take a typical rip from the point. Whether it was pain prevention or a mental fear of reinjuring it. - arichardson22
The injury most likely greatly decreased his core strength making his shots weaker and ineffective. |

They have enough mid round picks. Better to keep him if that's the best return |

Not sure if this is a popular choice or answer, but I'd give it to Schultz. |
