Hitchcock gave a great in-game interview over the weekend. Interviewer remarked how the Blues' second period was going much better than their first and asked something along the lines of "did you make some changes between periods?"
Hitchcock: Yes.
Interviewer: momentary stunned silence...Thanks for your time.
Hitchcock: You're welcome.

Not sure, but I think each team can only lose one player. I guess it would depend on how many expansion teams there are. - MJL
Somewhere I read that preliminarily it is: you can lose one if there is one expansion team, and two if there are two expansion teams |

I'm not sure if the league has finalized it yet. I think the only guaranteed team to be coming in is Las Vegas.

Totally right, here. My bad. Any hunches as to where you think he might go? I really hope it's not Toronto (not that they'd be contenders). I couldn't stand having him shoved down our throats by the Canadian media. It'd be endless. - Coleman
I could see Buffalo making a play. I could Detroit if they can move Datsyuks dead cap hit. And I could see the Flyers. Those would be teams closer to contending I think than Toronto.
If it is purely about the money then Toronto. And I could see possibly Ottawa getting involved with Boucher now there.

Right...hence "preliminarily"
and is LV actually a done deal and official? I haven't heard that it is. |

FWIW:
Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Daily News: The Philadelphia Flyers have plenty of defensive prospects in their organization, but they are a little thin up front. They are expected to go after forwards with size this year at the draft.
The Flyers will select at No. 17 if the Predators win their series against the Sharks, and would at No. 18 if the Predators lose.
Potential first round targets for the Flyers could include Keiffer Bellows, Julien Gauthier, Max Jones, Riley Tufte, Luke Kunin, German Rubtsov, Michael McLeod.
Sam Carchidi: (answering question) Doubt the Flyers would trade Travis Sanheim, but they would probably listen to offers on Sam Morin.

I thought it was pretty much a done deal hence the reason they were trying to figure out expansion draft rules for 2017 offseason. So teams could prepare for the future.
Also I heard or read somewhere that the next possible team could be a relocated team. I think it was possibly of the Hurricanes moving to Quebec City. Karmonos has been selling off pieces. |

The NHL and the current owners just need to decide whether they want to split $500m between them or not. With zero going to the players cause it's not HRR.
Odds Umberger bought out or suck it up for one more year? - jstross
Umberger himself expects a buyout.
Hextall could get two solid players for the bottom six just using the $3m in space created by a buyout. |

I've read that STL could also be a team. This obviously would mean bye-bye Backes and imo a Shatty trade which has been speculated for some time. But I can't say I'm familiar enough with Blue's cap stance to see if they could financially make Stamkos work now and for the additional seasons down the line |
