We sure as hell would Cpt! - nyisles7
That's been my experience. I've worked at a number of companies that were bought by other companies. Every time without exception they new owners would bring in their own people. I don't think its a guarantee in this case but I think it's likely. I just hope it happens soon.
If they announce that Crappy was let go tomorrow it will feel like they just won the cup. |

We are due for it after dopey Wang kept on Milbury. I do not like keeping current people on unless they are proven winners or the team is knocking on the door for a Cup. |

If you've owned and invested in as many businesses as these guys and dealt with some educated people, dismissing this group should be no problem if they had no business plan. According to Wang and company they have a gameplan to build with young players and draft picks. If convinced, they will keep them.
On the other hand if Snow walk away from draft weekend with no significant moves, what the players and agents decide with the ufa's come july first will be effected. |

Wang is out. He no longer has any say so in what goes on with the Islanders. He can no longer save his buddies if the new owners want them out. |

Good points. If all depends if they've built a relationship with Snow and company. Otherwise they may have some connections from WAS. I think Snow brought George McPhee in a while back. My hunch is this loss is not a huge setback when you put it up against the entire season and abilities of these players. They may roll the dice for some experienced ufa's but number one priority is keeping the ufa's or minimizing the loss of any. |

You think Snow bright in McPhee? Me thinks maybe Ledecky might have wanted an insider in the front office. He was a GM for Ledecky in Washington.

Everybody agrees they were a playoff team but in a match against PITT instead of FLA, doubtful they would have cracked top eight.
Boychuk never returned to form after December injury. Leddy is young and only in second year as a top two d man, so top pair had its problems as your workhorse pair which showed against TAM. Using a tired vet like Zidlicky or rookie like Pulock in second rd another red flag on d. Up front Quine and Prince also thin on experience plus loss of Lee. Should start to see Bailey same as Strait, an odd man out.
However trading a bevy of prospects or picks for other vets that other teams do not want is poor judgement. |

That's exactly why. If anyone takes snows place it's him. If Snow doesn't fire this clown Capuano for the inability to make sensible personnel decisions at key times let alone for dozens of other things I'm perfectly ok with taking my chances with McPhee.
We need a culture change. That couldn't be more obvious from the disinterested team we watched today. How many times have we watched this team mail it in? How the (frank) do you mail it in in an elimination game? Culture has to change for this team to be a winner. Winning a round against the Panthers is not a successful season. You know these clowns are patting each other on the back right now like they accomplished something. Makes me sick that this regime has been here for a decade and they're happy winning a round against the panthers. Success! |

The bottom line is this group has some real good pieces, but is lacking in playoff depth and pressure performances. They need to address these holes this summer. if they do, they'll improve and maybe take another step. If they don't, we'll be back in this spot or worse next May. |

I think Snow needs to hold onto Frans Nielsen at all costs. I'll miss Okposo but for anything more than 5.5 million I'd let him go. Martin should be sticking around you would think. Obviously our RFAs will most likely remain.
With how much Strome is in the doghouse constantly, I see hamonic and him being packaged together for our top line guy. I'm really hoping the new owners make some smart signings this year. Our weaknesses became glaringly exposed, and we got a long way to go before winning a cup, but we sure as hell have been driving in the right direction. It's time to start really pressing with this roster, no more tiny tweaks here and there.
I'm proud of the boys for taking that 23 year bullpoop out of our lives. Who knows what happens with cappy I don't even wanna think about that now. Let's enjoy the summer and let's gear up for the draft. |

I am so down on Strome and Nelson I can't even put it into words. Total no shows this playoff and Strome was a no show all year.
The isles need to re-build the top nine. JT and Nielsen would be keepers for me, but the rest are more than expendable. Even Lee should be moved for the right return. They need to get guys in the top nine that will score when JT isn't firing on all cylinders.
I'd love to see one or both of Stome and Nelson packaged with Hamonic to get a first line winger, but I'd rather see Hamonic change his mind. |

I do not keep Frans. He did not show he was a key player. If you get rid of Lee you better replace him with someone willing to stand in front of the net and play physical. Strome and Nelson you have to explore moving them. Have to think one of them will be moved. |

Probably not healthy to spend much time wondering "what if...", but does the season end differently if Halak is in goal for the playoffs? |

Hamonic changing his mind would be fantastic. We can only hope. I agree that getting JT an elite winger is a top priority. Hamonic + Strome + 1st rounder for Hall?? Too much? I don't want Eberle, another smallish forward who doesn't take care of his defensive responsibilities.
I'm hoping some of the young prospects make the team next season and begin to push out some of the dead wood (e.g., Bailey). I'd like Nielsen and Okposo back for the right price, but I think realistically only Nielsen will be back. Someone will give Okposo much more than he's worth.
Pulock and Pelech should make the team next year and Zidlicky will likely retire. I would not be shocked to see Strait back as a 7th d-man again. He's cheap enough. I just don't want him playing in place of a more talented prospect. |

Good question. Greiss was fantastic most of the season, including the first round of the playoffs. I missed today's game, but during some previous games he seemed to be wearing down a little. The guy after all is a career back up who had never played more than 20 games in a single season. |

I think he is 100% a key player. The guy does everything. He played 2nd and 3rd line center most of his career, but letting him ride w/ JT for a full season would be the best thing for him and JT.
I'd try and package Strome, Hamonic, and this year's first for Taylor Hall. I think Edmonton would def consider that. Hall - JT - Nielsen would be amazing to watch. |

I don't want eberle either. He's not the answer for me. Hall would be a great get and replace hammer with someone in free agency.
Truth is, the top nine need to be adressed. They just aren't good enough. |
