You need stats to figure out Capuano is a bad coach? - Cptmjl
I'm shocked that we actually have a few stepping up to defend the twit! And for years I've been the most reserved in criticisms here, but that takes the cake |

I was defending Snow. I don't watch enough to critique or defend Cappy. |

It's incredible keaner. Teams are getting rid of much more successful coaches and we are going to be stuck with this coach. |

Capuano's style of run and gun hockey worked against FLA, but if you watch how Tampa could dominate and control the zone, well that is a different level of hockey. Definitely requires coaching and skilled players. You could see the Isles ability to communicate defensively and offensively is not there.
the so called q backs on o and d are not there. hockey is about making plays. pro hockey and pro poise is not there. New owners have to look at that and not take advice from mike milbury. |

Snow has done some good but the negatives out weigh the positives. Also, the reasons behind his decision making is what makes him a bad GM. |

Yup, and Snow has benefited from some dumb luck. He doesn't look so smart if A-Mac and Vanek accept his overly generous offers. |

Obviously I don't follow as closely as you but I still disagree. I like his moves at last year's draft and more importantly I like his moves to acquire Leddy and Boychuk. Halak and Greiss were not bad moves either. Sure if you go much earlier in his tenure you could find a lot of negatives. But imo, more recent moves that Snow has made are a big part of the reason the Isles have seen the relative success you guys have had in the last few years.
I think this burn it down poop I'm hearing from you guys right now is more of a knee jerk reaction to a disappointing series than a measured response. |

Snow has done some good things yes, however would the Islanders be further along if they had a different GM? I'm going to say abso(frank)inglutely!
Just to start we wouldn't have the same coach and may be we would have a couple more of the prices needed to win if we had a GM who had the balls to trade a prospect or draft pick for them.
I know you guys are going to call me crazy but I'm thinking the new owners make some changes. This team needs to change its culture and direction and it won't be done with the same old management imho. |

Is Cappy fired yet? His Okposo + JT line at the end of 3rd in Game 3 lost the series... |

Agreed. Even though the goal of the season wasn't to win one series, they finally took a step in the right direction from being a non-playoff team/1st round out.
The team isn't going to be nearly the same next year, with the free agents and Hamonic trade request, so Garth is going to be forced to make changes. I truthfully don't think the talent on the team this year was good enough. Look at the 2nd PP unit, no winger to play with JT, and combine that with Strome/Brock's terrible playoffs, they weren't going to survive a series where JT didn't dominate.

I hope they do make changes right away 7. They have been watching the last few years so they should have a good idea on what type of people they want to bring in. The questions remains is do they have control now or do they have to wait until July? If they have to want until July I think Cappy and Garth are back. |

It was Game 3 and yes, for me that decision
And losing game 3 was the killer. Dreadful coaching!

Yeah, when the opposition can dismantle your team the way Tampa did, well gotta hang that on the coaching and experience of the team. |

I don't have any idea on the date Ses but if I'm signing the check I want some input into the draft and trades coming up and want my guys or people I trust in making them.
Do the new owners like Crappy and his bench management? Snows management and progression of the team?
No one knows but if it's me I'm looking a different direction. I give them all the boot and tell them the NE boys club is over don't call us we will call you. |

I'm not saying burn it down I'm saying the general manager and all of the staff he hired should be let go. Any GM who makes personnel decisions solely due to nepotism and not for the betterment of the team is not someone who I want in charge. |

I would hope they have to at least sign off on things even if they do not officially take over until July. We really need someone to clarify this. |

I'm pretty sure Staple said they take over officially July 1. I can't really see Wang preventing them from making a change, but who knows. |

Now that the season if over, I really want to hear from the new owners. I cannot see Wang being able to stop them either. Wang is out of the picture. |
