Find me another owner and GM who constantly address the media.

When have either of them ever been really vocal and in the news a lot?
- eichiefs9

I feel like this year in particular they've been more distant. Im not really sure how it was in years past, but Snow was usually quoted in the paper after the trade deadline, or even after the season. This year, i dont recall him saying a word....

I dont think he meant it like that.......but I agree in that this year was OVERLY silent. Not even a company line, we believe in our guys type thing.

If I'm Snow, I'd start looking to add some depth via free agency.

Realistic UFA guys that would make sense for depth:

RW: Purcell, Brouwer

LW: Perron, Versteeg

If LA is still in cap-hell, I'd be pushing hard for Lucic. Maybe Boedker, depending on if COL re-signs him or not. McGinn would be a nice get, too.

- eichiefs9

Halfway through his first game, you'll lose your voice with how often you have to scream at him to shoot. He has a wicked rest shot, but wouldnt use it to save his life.

I don't know, he didn't really do much at the deadline this year to talk about.

I'm not going to go dig up an old Staple article to see if there is a quote from Snow or not after the trade deadline. Not a major deal either way, honestly. I'll save my effort for unearthing other things.

I would hope July 1 is only on paper. They are already owners now and Wang cannot stop them from doing something. I really think we need to hear from the Ledecky sooner rather than later.
- ses111

I doubt it. Maybe they are gearing up to take over now, but they don't have control until July 1. I don't expect to hear anything specific from them until after then.

Oh, he suffers from Josh Bailey syndrome?

Not saying I'm dying for the guy, but he'd be a good middle-6 depth signing at the right price/term.

BTW, for anyone who cares (I know the answer is "nobody", outside of me) we have the 19th overall pick. Picks in 1st, 4th, 6th, 7th.

I would think July 1 is just on paper. If the new owners wanted something done they could have it done before they officially take over. If they have to wait then they will have a later start then the rest of the teams in the league. Also players may not want to sign if there is no stability in the front office/behind the bench

First thing should fire Cappy and staff then go hire Bob Hartley are any other top coacj available

I believe the reason they were successful is because Cizikas and Clutterbuck are high-energy players that are all over everyone on the forecheck. Martin is a nice compliment to them, but imagine getting another guy that plays physical but can actually skate somewhat-fast and has a little more skill than Martin? I think that line would be even tougher to play against.
- eichiefs9

What are you going to pay that tough, more skilled winger? Your not gonna get him for $2M.
You know what you have in MM and his line mates, a line that is complemented game in and game out. Just makes sense to keep him if the price isn't absurd. 2 to 2.5 is where its gonna fall Over 2.5 I'm tapping out.

nuts.. right? This is exactly what lead to us being terrible forever.. trade away all the talent that was earned with horrific seasons b/c you are too impatient. anyone that thinks Snow, Brock, Lee, Pulock Barzal, Bouv, de Haan, .... are all busts is just foolish. These are 25 year old kids.. and YOUNGER. They will get better every year.

Tons of UFA's out there.. snow will do what he always does.. write a number down for Okposo, Franz and Matt... will go slightly higher but if not let them walk b/c it's the wrong number (see- Jason Blake, A-mack, Streit, etc.).

Who said anything about trading away all the talent? This is another great example of the hockeybuzz exaggeration tactic. Take what someone says and exaggerate it to such a point that it belittles the initial post. There aren't many gms these days trading away young talent. It's coveted throughout the league and one trade or signing doesn't define a GM if that were the case Snow would be indefensible. You guys think Snow is great but hate Capuano and want him gone. Can't have one without the other or vice versa. Package deal.

Exactly

Now we want a fourth liner that can score 15 goals for under 2 million

I never said you could get one for $2M. I'd pony up a little extra cash for a guy that can play better than Martin. That's all.

Think he made 1.3 this year so 2.5 will almost double his salary. So i am fine with 2-2.5.

You cannot talk about trading one young player without someone thinking you want them all traded. Maybe Garth is reading some of these comments and is scared off dealing any young talent? Unless they upset him like Nino?

I haven't paid too much attention, honestly. Top 3 guys are all going to be really good. Not sure what kind of talent will be around at 19.

Kinda hoping there is a solid defenseman there. Going to need to start restocking that cupboard soon.
