What IF he had not touched the puck after contact with pekka, in other words had he allowed it go in, would it still have been a pentalty?
- pred_26

well, considering it wasn't a penalty no matter what, IMO it doenst count because his hand was the last thing to touch the puck and that would've been off a glove and into the net - no goal.

He hit it in with the stick? Crosscheck is not a penalty?

My thought is if Pavelski wasn't cross checked into Rinne, he would have easly tapped the puck into the gaping net. Rinne was already so far out of position it would have been an easy rebound goal if not for being cross checked. Therefore, (IMO) the goal should count.

No one is talking about this...

With 5 mins to go in the game and the sharks up 3-2 Thornton makes some goofy sick handling play at the red line instead of banging the puck deep. Because of this the Preds get possession and get into the the Sharks zone. A few seconds we later Martin regains control of the puck near the blue line though still in our defensive zone. He makes a weak backhand attempt to get out of the zone though he had time to make a stronger play. Instead that weak backhand was a turnover and the Preds have possession in our D zone. A few seconds later James Neal ties the game. These two mistakes followed by the game tying goal against took place in less than 30 seconds.

Just saying, with a 1 goal lead and 5 mins left in the game, I expect our veterans to make smarter and stronger plays.

The weak backhand attempt when he had so many outlets had me fuming. That was so lazy. Cost them the game

He was talking about not touching the puck while he was laying on Rinne. And you really think that weak tap is going to a cross checking call in OT???

If he wasn't xchecked he ends up skating to his left past Rinne and the post, effectively removing himself from the crease. If he continues straight unimpeded he doesn't stop in time and still contacts Rinne or he gets his clock cleaned by Weber.

Not sure you were watching the same game, clear shove in the back, clear Webber trip. They slowed down the replay like 10 times, it was obvious.

From the rule book for those

If you put your teal glasses down for a minute, can you agree that Pavs glides for about 5 more feet after the xcheck? It's not like he was X checked in the crease and onto Rinne. That's what the rule is talking about IMO. action on top of the goalie and a push forcing a player directly on top of goalies. Or even a foot away and they land in the goalie. But not 5 feet away when they have a second to avoid the contact. But it's your team I get it. Go sharks but don't tell anyone I said that.

What exactly do you expect him to do in that instance? He is going at the net and gets pushed forward, you can see he's even putting on the brakes...

Still surprised no one is mentioning the 2nd Sharks goal that shouldnt have counted seeing that Ward never actually touched up. Yet the refs thought was fine.

What are you surprised about? The fact that you're the only one that doesn't understand the rule? Ward clearly touches up before Martin enters the zone, it was the right call. Nothing to discuss there.

I would expect a professional hockey player to be able to avoid a goalie with 5 feet separating them.

When I initially saw the replay I thought he was offside as well. But after watching the replays of different angles it was a good play. Heads up by both Shark players.

Judging by the way Nashville has played at home, this series is likely going to a game 7.

No matter what, the Sharks will need to play their best game of the entire season to win this.
