Sorry, but I gotta disagree with Bill on this one. Berube did himself no favors. Hak is the better coach and Berube deserved to be fired IMO.
- PhillySportsGuy

I think before I call Hakstol a better coach, I'd say he had a better backup goaltender and an impact rookie on defense instead of trying to figure out what to do with Carlo Coliacovo and Luke Schenn every night

Hakstol also benefited from having a healthy Gudas, Cousins and Laughton being one year better/more experienced and Wheels having one less year on his contract, so he could get moved

Now, I can't explain why Chief threw Umberger out there every night, but Hakstol did it for half a season, too

Maybe there wasn't a whole lot Hextall could've done to help Chief, but there definitely wasn't any help given

Think Chief got a lot out of that roster last year, TBH

I hope this caggiulla kid fails miserably. I hope he's the Manziel of hockey. I'm glad he witnessed the bracelet debacle and decided that he wasn't cut out for philly. It's obvious he wanted an NHL job gift wrapped. Hak and Hexy turned him off when they told him he was guaranteed nothing and I'm glad he ran away to (frank)ing Siberia. What a toolbag

Exactly.. I know people who drink in excess, and people who are alcoholics.

Alcoholics depend on it. Other just go hard on a Friday night.

The problem is that nobody knows what their BAC is...
You can have a BAC of .1 and feel completely fine. Hell, you go to a Flyers game and have a couple beers you are likely to be higher than that.

- jak521

Exactly. Not to excuse them, but DUIs could be handed out so often it would cripple the alcohol industry (or put a serious dent in it) because everyone would fear getting pulled over after 2 or 3 glasses of wine at dinner.

I wouldn't even worry about it -- we can go round and round on size vs. skill, but for how I like to see hockey played, I didn't particularly want another smaller player in the Bottom 6

That's just me

I can't believe he's not signing with the Flyers. Why wouldn't he want to play for his college coach?

Yup, I think the Flyers will survive. Probably even prosper. Looking forward to the draft and the next camp.

I agree with Allinforflyers first page unquotable post about not giving berube help. But Berube wasn't my first pick for coach and neither is hakstoll whom i agree did fine job this season.

Me, too. I can't/don't track it like I used to, but I trust the Flyers' ability to draft

I think there will be some.

Mark Streit/Matt Read traded.

Stamkos signed for 9 million

Flyers trade 1st round pick for Trouba.

I would be ok with any of them

But it is funny people seem to gravitate to EDM. Didn't he learn from Justin Schultz.

Almost all of the college FA that sign this time of the year choose the team that guarantees them the best chance of making the NHL from day one. Jimmy Vesey will do the same.

Then you have the other group that sign before the end of the NHL season and make sure the team they sign with is willing to burn a year off their ELC by putting them on the NHL roster immediately (see Alex Lyon and the Flyers).

I'd be happy with Provorov in the lineup, and a winger with some size added to the top 6. Someone who can put the puck in the net.

Just like the "Bet with your head; not over it" slogans posted around AC casinos work so well.

Is the 25 goal scorer added to the top 6 a given too?

That I don't know.

What if somehow they got Vesey? I wouldn't mind that.

I am still one who hopes they get Stamkos. Not at 11-12 million. But I can do 10 and below.
