Then a great many adult Americans have alcohol problems because a boatload of DUIs could be handed out every single night of the year. If cops wanted to arrest a lot of people every single night, all they would need to do is sit outside expensive restaurants.

DUI's are so dumb.

Either allow it or dont. Dont set a limit to it. A limit nobody really knows if they are at, under, or over. You can either drink or drive. Not both.

Calling him "Reader" makes no sense. It is a nickname that has more syllables than his actual name. Just like "Schenner." Not only is it a lazy nickname, it just shows a complete lack of syllabic economy.

Yes well said. The dui that was mentioned earlier is also worrisome. When your 33 and getting a dui, you have an alcohol problem period.

Yup. I'm just saying, dui doesn't = alcoholic. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it's just bad luck and stupidity. (nope, I've never gotten a dui.)

on a happier note, I was thrilled with what happened in Nashville last night

the Preds when they got down a goal late in the third, just willed themselves to a way to tie it up... it felt inevitable that they would get a goal there

what a spectacular performance from the team in front of their fans

I hate when anyone uses nicknames. Especially the media. SOunds bush league when you watch CSN and you hear "simmer", "G", "Schenner", "Mase".

there are some good studies that show a link between alcoholism and DUI

of course not everyone who gets a DUI is an alcoholic.

the more DUIs you get the higher the correlation

fantastic game. i've never seen rinne play better. he has a bit of tim thomas in him. he can be a real scrambler. battling, rolling around, losing his stick. i think it's the first time i ever enjoyed watching him play.

iffy no goal on the pavelski goal. hard to see a direct hit from behind on the angle i saw. if it was, then the sharks got screwed a bit i think.

either way, a blast to watch.

"Pekka doesn't impress me anymore. The Preds really should get rid of them."

That I agree with. But is there an agreed upon definition of alcoholism? X number of drinks a week? Physiological dependency?

According to the "studies" of what constitutes an alcoholic almost everybody below the age of 30 is one.

Exactly.. I know people who drink in excess, and people who are alcoholics.

Alcoholics depend on it. Other just go hard on a Friday night.

The problem is that nobody knows what their BAC is...
You can have a BAC of .1 and feel completely fine. Hell, you go to a Flyers game and have a couple beers you are likely to be higher than that.

No doubt. That's one of the main courses in college, how to become and then stop being an alcoholic.
