In my mind, I would have three centres on three lines. There's more than enough ice time to go around because when the situation warrants it, you move all your best guys onto a mega-line.

But over 82 games, you're going to grind down most teams if you go three deep down the middle with McDavid, LD and RNH.

Can Nuge play wing? Otherwise, I don't really see a fit for him here. Nielsen figures to re-sign and Barzal has a shot to make the team next year. Islanders have a ton of natural centers already on the roster.

I wasn't taking any real life probable trade scenarios. Just putting out an simple example of what it would take for the Oilers to get a balanced team. There are too many moving parts to a trade to predict what will actually happen. I could not imagine Chiarelli trading Ebs away before having assurance he could sign a couple respectable RWers to replace him And Yak. We have one nhl top 9 RWer once those two are gone.

Nuge on the wing would not be ideal but I would guess he could easily do well there. Converting ceters to wingers is relatively very easy.

Yakimov came back from mother Russia twice and I have not heard he won't be back a third time.
