I doubt it....this fanbase needs to see some results and now after putting up with this for so many years already...this team needs to start making steps forward

Depends on who the signings are. Are they Demers and a guy like Brouwer? Then I'd say so. If the two signings are less than that- say Stempniak and Kelly- then I don't think so. In the latter scenario, they'd be banking too hard on some breakout performances from guys like Nurse and Reinhart as well as huge development out of Klefbom and Davidson. That's not the way to build a team. |

Not to mention staying healthy on top of that and we really havent had the best luck in that dept...depth would be great for that very reason

Can't stress enough how much depth is needed. Something I think is overlooked is maybe finding an offensive prospect/young player that's hit a rut with another team (Khoklachev, Jurco, or Strome). There are a fair deal of examples of such on more successful teams (Connolly, Grigorenko, Jarnkrok, etc). |

i see value in quality depth forwards.... insulating the younger players is more important then keeping as many as u can.imo
would rather develop2or 3 and have them be successful then develop 4 or 5 and have them struggle |

With how frequent our guys get hurt its a must have if we are to go anywhere because im just going into every season expecting the same guys to get hurt until they can play full years...then because we got no depth we have to call up guys before they are ready then it just gets ugly

not to mention that if u can turn their career around they will not be expensive to sign. |

With enough depth I would like to see Nurse in the AHL for the whole season so he can get quality minutes and buikd confidence/get better...as I said in my previous post good depth means we dont have to put these kids in situations they arent ready for and then it just kills our season
Edit: I know we were discussing forward depth but some on the blueline would be great too |

i may be wrong... but when players are trying to play above themselves... they put themselves in situations that they may not be comfortable in and end up getting hurt through inexperience or being indecisive . |

Exactly why we need that type of middling guy. We need offensive players who can step in and hold a certain level of offensive production that most of our call-ups from the past 6 years haven't been capable of. |

as much as i agree about nurse.... i dunno if chia can bring in enough depth to make that happen.... would have been optimal this past year. |

Also fair. A guy like Yannick Weber would've been someone I'd have pursued if Oesterle hadn't shown so well in the last portion of the season. If they can grab a guy like Colin Miller out of Boston along with one of their forwards or maybe Postma from Winnpeg, I think we get the depth I'd be wanting. |

has chia been pursuing any free agent college talent or Europeans? |

I think he only needs one more RHD to facilitate him starting the year in the AHL. If he brings in two, I don't see much trouble keeping him there for the majority (barring absolute domination). |

If thats the case then bottom paring/sheltering minutes so he can grow and learn at his own pace as opposed to being thrown to the wolves.....still makes a difference in his development and for the better

He's in on Drake Caguilla who's apparently a real quality scorer, he signed a college goalie who ran a .936 sv% (Nick Ellis), and signed a scrappy Finnish LWer in Jere Salinen. He was also interested in Dryden Hunt before he signed in Florida. |
