Those of you waking up: RUS with glorious 6-4 comeback victory over mighty Kazakhstan. Artemi Panarin out (leg), status unknown #Blackhawks
RUS coach claims #Blackhawks Panarin injury isn't serious. Or so I think, as he was quickly led away by nondescript men in civilian clothes.
Now the report is Panarin's injury is his shoulder. To be assessed by doctors later. #Blackhawks |

I'm here for you, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Was the day they acquired Daley, when they had him, when he was run out of town and will be tomorrow and posted so. How anyone, using their eyes or stats, can't see Daley at 3 mil per as a #4 Dman for the Hawks, moving TVR to #5 and shaving 10 minutes off of the top 3's minutes as a better option than any two of Sved/Rundblad/Gus in a Game 7?
Simply said the very best defense is one that allows his team to play the game at the other end and guys like Daley, and even clubfoot Rozy, do that better than most. - Mr Ricochet
Last night.
First goal of the game. (Scoring first important?)
Transporting and one of the low end hawk defenders you mentioned by way of Darkseid's boom tube into the Daley's skates on to the Pens during that first goal simply doesn't seem any worse than how Daley plays his end. |

and StanBo already put him on IR to make cap space for October, ha!

But Wilson is getting it done. In fact as I watch the Pens right now I'm hoping StanBowPops&McD are too and maybe see a template moving forward.
Yea the cap is screwing them but that's how the rules are set up, adapt or die. The luxury of having guys fit your systems/scheme perfectly is gone. The luxury of overwhelming talent is gone. The luxury of not having to let rookies play through mistakes are gone. The luxury of thumbing your nose at deals the GM makes at great future cost is gone.
Sure I'll cut em some slack, they've proven they can win. That's yesterday though and the parameters have changed in building and icing a team. The margin for error is near zero and luxuries afforded in the PAST are gone. Adapt or die.

This is a little off topic and probably too early, but here is a possible trade that would help the Hawks and Edmonton:
Andrew Shaw, Corey Crawford and a player from Rockford for Darnell Nurse and Leon Draisaitl.
The Hawks get the young d-man they need, a young versatile forward, the team gets a little bigger and younger, and Edmonton gets valuable veteran experience and a top 10 goalie.
And the Hawks get valuable cap relief.
Let the debate begin.

Don't think there is a chance in Hell EDMONTON would even consider it. |

I'm curious as to why Beaudrue didn't sign to coach the Flames. With a really nice young core of forwards Gaudraeu, Monahan, Backlund and Bennet and D core of Giordano, Hamilton, Brodie with plenty of cap space and will sign/trade for a solid goalie this looks like a nice spot to land for a coach.
Unless he wants nothing to do with Brian Burke? |

More stats. All defensmen playing in the playoffs in round 1 on getting the puck OUT of their own zone. You know Q's theory of the offense triggered by the defense, getting the puck out from a Dman to a forward. Leddy fans will like this. http://www.sportsnet.ca/h...cemen-proficient-offence/
And an easy to see/understand chart, which also confirms my views that Rozy is far better than 90% of Hawk fans think: https://public.tableau.com/profile/sean.tierney#!/vizhome/Zoneexits/Dashboard1
Simply said the very best defense is one that allows his team to play the game at the other end and guys like Daley, and even clubfoot Rozy, do that better than most. Sure you can point to Daley kicking a puck on A play here and there, the same as a Keith or Doughty, but the data says you are wrong 9 ways to Sunday not to mention the minutes he would eat allowing the top 3 10 minutes less TOI per game. . - Mr Ricochet
Don't know how anyone can think Daley would NOT have been more valuable in the playoffs then some of the ones the Hawks used in the playoffs. Could the Hawks not kept him this year n if things were so bad got rid of him in the off season. |

You sir are most likely correct. The Oil would also want TT and a high draft pick or Pokka. |

Bruce Boudreau is finalizing a deal to be next head coach of the Minnesota Wild. Ottawa has been informed..
The Central is not getting any easier my frents - Marlowe
Maybe the RS, but he's a PO choker. Wild fans are split on this one, reading their pages the last week or so. |

Thought I read where he interviewed but I must be mistaken or can't find it now. I do read that for sure he interviewed with Ottawa and of course the Wild.
Thought he fit nicely with the high scoring young Flames that are weak defensively.

Tom Rowe has replaced Dale Tallon as Panther's GM. Tallon moves "upstairs" away from the checkbook drawer. Tallon is signed through 2019. |

Here is my my view on " Bred Man" Panarin. He is the real deal with his hockey skills. He looks so cute and looks so innocent however, he really is a camillion. His color has changed from red and black to a camoflage color. For a player to say after the season Telling reporter something like" situation not very good in Chicago because of cap"is not a great endorsement for the Hawks. When asked about contract with the Hawks his answer" we will talk in summer". The answer from Panarin should have been: I am sure we can work things out during the summer...that is the standard answer from most hockey players who will be in contract situations. His interviews with Chicago writer in the beginning of the season was that:" money did not mean much" ... Sure Panarin we will see! |

Because he's not in charge of managing the group, filling out the lineup and creating lines and D combos.
But if your asking me if Go Johnny Go needed to do more both in the regular season and playoffs I'd say yes.
Then if you asked me if I had to choose between Toews playing a bit better or Q not running Daley and Garbutt out of town, icing guys like Mash and Rundblad while Weise and Fleishman sit to get past the Blues I'd choose the latter.
Daley means the top 3 skate less minutes and TVR is your #5. Depth at the bottom 6 means they roll 4 lines. Q did neither and in the grand scheme I think that hurt the club more than Toews having an off year. - Mr Ricochet
Totally in agreement. Toews had a subpar year, but it was Quenneville and Bowman COMBINED that caused this first round exit and the total cap mess that they're in. I really have no confidence in either to work together this summer to get this team back to contention. The core has overpaid and underpaid players and that has to be in question from the players point of view as well as all of most posters here. In my opinion, somebody from this core has to go in order to get speed and youth in the system. Does Bowman have the plan in place to do so or will it be the same core group again ? Yes we all love them but without the correct moves, this group probably will be a bubble team next year. I'm not convinced at all that the extra time off this summer will be all that's needed for a long run next year, but I'm sure that's probably what we're going to hear.

He's got the Ross and if he wins either or both of the other two awards for which he is nominated, does Kane get bonus money that will also count against the cap? Or, is any money covered by the league? |

I think when they saw he couldn't fit, they weren't gonna shoulder daley's deal IF they could make space...that's gotta be the way it went down unless there is some big issue involving Daley we are not privy to.

There's nothing wrong with Panarin wanted to maximize his earnings...it's the right of every NHL player. Maybe Panarin didn't communicate his intentions properly or maybe he did, some times things get lost in translation. Maybe Panarin really wants to stay in Chicago but understands (like the rest of us) that the cap adds a serious wrinkle to make that happen and he doesn't like it. Would any of us feel any different? |

Send him to the Blues for a defender!
Kane can solo it, as Toews does much of the time...we don't need more scoring, right?
Yeah, don't believe that the US dollar is a motivating factor in MOST UFA moves, and re-ups... |
