I wonder why just a one year deal. Is it because we want to see if he pans out before giving him a longer term contract or does he want to see if he wants to remain a Leaf after next year?
I am guessing after one year he becomes a free agent but have no idea |

Ummm...JVR scored 30 once in his whole career!!
JVR is a solid 25/25 forward. WAY overrated by Leaf fans (and I am a huge Leaf fan). Very soft and terrible in his own zone.
You have no clue who Sergachev is.....
IMO, best d man available at the draft and definitely a top 10.
yeah, I make that trade without doubt.
I think you are still butt sore cause you think people are racists about Kadri! LOL
Yeah okay bud.. Best defenceman in the draft, said no one ever. Im extremely happy about Kadri and his contract.. You're bringing up old drama. Clearly your're the butthurt one. |

He's a leaf.
When do the mooks start with zietzev trade proposals? - burn
exactly. Apparently just because he's on the Leafs now, he's gonna be some (frank)ing trash bucket
if he was elsewhere, god knows the praise he'd get. |

Needs buttons opinion..... Zietzev is good, but how many Pts came on a Thursday in
Nizhny Novgorod - burn
I was going to say that it isn't surprising Panarin and Zaitsev were so impressive to him considering he was on one leg and one of the worst players in the KHL during his one year stint. I'd imagine he was really shocked at how fast all these guys blowing by him are! |

lol he took the words that I wrote & flipped them completely.
All I said was he could be our Ghost next year. Just my prediction ...especially on a Leaf team where he'll get top 4 mins & top PP mins , I don't see why he can't AT LEAST come close to what Ghost accomplished last year. |

He needs to be on an ELC. He'll ask for a big raise after this year. Leafs likely already agreed to this on principle if he cracks the Leafs lineup and plays well. |

If the Leafs get Stamkos they're making the playoffs..
I think fans are underestimating how much firepower there is. And our defence isn't bad at all, especially now..
Hopefully Bernier can step his game up. |

Since he's 24, he's required to sign at least a 1 year ELC. Chances are he signed on for only 1 year so he can shoot for a big raise for next season.
A good solid RH dman without having to give up assets. Good job by the Leafs brass. |

No its not..
They played well at the end of last year, for rookies.. Zaitsev will step in and be our 2/3 guy easy.. Mo and Gards are getting more responsible every season. |

Can skaters faster than him in his prime. - burn
That would be Ryan Whitney’s message to professional hockey players in North America considering a stint in the KHL.
“In 2013, I knew my ankles were shot. My career in the NHL was done,” Whitney wrote in a thoroughly entertaining post in The Players’ Tribune Monday. “I had been fortunate enough to make a lot of money in the league (thanks for those backdoor tap-ins, Sid), and I could have retired. But I was only 30. Even though I couldn’t skate well enough to play at the NHL level anymore, I still loved the game and knew I could play in Europe.”
“For any NHL guys reading this right now, let me tell you something: You don’t know how good you have it. A normal practice in Sochi was harder than any day I ever had in an NHL training camp.
“In Russia, they skate. Then they skate some more. You’re dying. You’re about to fall over. Your coach is screaming. You look at your Russian teammate and ask, ‘What did coach say?’
And he says, ‘This warmup.’” |
