Just cuz I can't see an arguably top 10 player in the world willingly taking his talents to the armpit of North America. Even if they were a good team. - Phenom
That's what Jim Kelly said. Would never, ever go to Buffalo.
He still lives there. |

You insulted the city I live near, I'm upset and I wish there was something I could do to retaliate, Toronto is difficult to park in, let that sink in for a minute |

If Chernobyl gets a KHL team, can we suggest some players might not want to sign there?
Although I'd buy a Chernobyl Leaky Atoms jersey. |

Quick story:
My 81 year old father was at a dinner party about a month ago.
There was a retired NHL executive at the party (you would recognize his name immediately).
The guy said that the Stamkos to Toronto deal was already done. All the paperwork was done. The only thing left to do was sign it - which they will do on July 1st.
And then the guy's wife chimed in that he wasn't supposed to say anything, so the retired NHL exec told everyone at the table that they were not supposed to repeat it.
So let that sink in for a moment, and then ask yourself this: do you really think that Stamkos and his agent are stoopid? That they would in any way agree to anything AND THEN tell a few select people, swearing them to secrecy?
Every single roomer, repeated by 100 different guys who have inside knowledge, is garbage.
See you on July 1st. - Atomic Wedgie
Pretty much.
In all the years I've known hockeybuzz, and all the people who claim they know things, I've only seen one trade called before it happened.
It was that ducks07 or something like that called the lupul and gardiner trade. He was on a golf course and overheard the execs from Anaheim saying it or something along those lines I believe.

And the one guy who overheard Winnik ' s agent on the phone saying he'd sign with the Leafs the first time, 2 days before it happened. |

Some random dude called the Winnik signing
But then also called a Franson for Clitsome trade right after that never panned out, thank (frank).
Someone else on this site broke the Leafs-Flyers deal that was definitely not Schenn for JVR as well. Can't remember who |
