FFS, if they were ever going to fix a draft, wouldn't they have given Matthews to the Coyotes?
- Atomic Wedgie

Yup.

League rigged the draft for the leafs by giving them a player from Arizona (a team the league has spent years trying to save) and gave the oilers a TO boy last year.

Seems legit.

Da (frank).

More outsiders talking leafs, and crying like imbicles.

"Pet franchise"

- burn

yeah, uh, if the fix was in... why did we not get McDavid, instead of him going to the LAST place the league wanted him.

Then why not give Matthews to AZ instead? Home town star to a franchise perpetually struggling?

The people actually writing articles like this crap should be fired for their stupidity.

It's rigged but the NHL is just stupid obviously.

The exact same people that accuse of tanking were the ones who used to love laughing at Clarkson, Kessel, Phaneuf... and would have laughed their ass off had we traded away draft picks, or signed more UFA's.

When we stop being stupid and actually correct some bad mistakes, then we are "tanking".

- Aetherial

Exactly, if they had done any of that it would have been more of the same.

People want to somehow regulate out 'tanking' in a game...it's like somehow making it so there's never small stack players in a poker game who aren't playing much because they are defensive. It's long term game strategy at this point, it's part of the game.

You know we finished last, right?
- Atomic Wedgie

We tanked.

The problem is that I have yet to hear anyone give me an example of a move the Leafs made that was not completely justifiable.

What we have is a bunch of people laughing at the Leafs incompetence and then cry foul when they take steps to change it.

THAT, I can believe.

Nashville loses Vessey.

Marner can't play in the A.

It makes you wonder where the brains are when they are creating the CBA.

And saying that, having watched a lot of crap Leaf teams, oddly enough you can really say this year's dead last team was a team that hung around and made teams beat them. It's sounds like bullpoop but that's what it looked like to me. This team was better coached and conditioned than some recent teams that placed higher.

This off-season is going to be huge for toronto.

If they can just manage to make some smart trades and fill in a couple peices then we actually could contend next year.

Marner needs to have a hard working summer.

Sign stamkos and give him the C

Matthews steps in and has a 60-70 point season

Leafs land a starting goaltender

Zaitsev is actually a top pairing defenseman

I've never been, I'm just being a Richard. It's probably just fine, any place is good. They are snow people too, I respect that.

Too many key pieces are much too young and inexperienced to contend next year.

We *might* challenge for a playoff spot.

I would take a look at Buffalo or Edmonton this past season as a guess where we might be.

There are still a lot of holes on the Leafs and a bunch of rookies aren't going to adequately fill them next year.

Best Buy are some mother (frank)ers

I bought a 4,000$ tv for my mom for Mother's Day for a room she redecorated. It's exactly what she wanted and a ton more. It was supposed to be delivered tomorrow while she's away and I took the day off. Now they're saying they don't have the tv after they were supposed to call me to ensure delivery and never did. So I called and now found that out. So I'm out a surprise, a day off, and have been on hold for an hour.

I'm going to lose my mind if I don't get a couple hundred back

I actually have to give my maximum respect to Buffalo for that storm they had where they had like thirty feet of snow in a weekend. I wish I was there for that. I love winter and snow, and that is the hardest of the hardcore.

Yup with Holland, Mathias, Grabner, Phaneuf, PAP etc... No JVR either, y'know our best player?

They played much better with the mariles... Add Marner, Matthews for sure.. then add mlre experience with Zaitsev. They need a better goalie for sure..

Dude, it's awesome when it happens, but also a mother (frank)er

You should've seen Boston last year with 110 in of snow in like 3 weeks

Just politely and nicely play the Mother's Day angle, you like Best Buy and want to remain a customer, places always will give you poop, they don't give poop, they just want you to keep buying in the future

I agree that there are still many holes.

But, I don't think we can compare any teams. Buffalo and Edmonton Are their own teams. Toronto is coached by the best and you never know how good they could be... Although it could also be another painful year as well.

We will have to wait and see what happens in the offseason. This management team seems to get everything they want lol

That's what I'm doing. It's just so frustrating.

Especially being on hold for so long. Like what the (frank)? Is this how you treat high paying customers? And I'm not trying to sound like a pompous bumhole, but it's true.

(frank)

I also have someone coming to install after the time frame it was supposed to be delivered at so it (frank)s me multiple times over.

Hypothetically. Could the leafs work out a deal with Stamkos for something like $11mil per on a three year term. Then resign him to an extension for something less. Two different contracts here.

You know, I just started making money to be able to do something like that. Obviously lucky to be able to do so, but like I'm 24 and was pumped for a surprise like that after all she's done for me

Toronto would've called in the army.

You see things like a foot of snow shutting down entire southern states or something and people laugh but you can't have snowplows on standby on the off chance you get a freak storm every 40 years. Too expensive.

doubtful, why take 33mil when he can get a guaranteed 70 mil?

I've spent untold thousands on Amazon and yet they try to talk like they're doing me a favour when I ask for a shipping refund when they fail to deliver something on time when I've paid for express shipping. No you (frank)s, I'm doing you a favour by not being a Richard about it.

You'll get used to it man. It sucks but this is just how companies work.

Babcock

(although I have not yet asked anyone the question of why the Leafs would open up the vault to get Babcock if they were trying to tank )

Let's just say my definition of tank is very broad. Anytime you don't do everything possible to win as many games as possible, you are tanking.

The truth is, that philosophy is in direct conflict with the idea that you should always do what is best for the future and should always be building to contend for a championship.
