how is this possible?
what goes the other way? Pitt's 1st + 3rd + Percy ??

- dmnted

I have to say now that we have the 1st overall, moving the other 1st, 3rd and Percy wouldn't be too bad if we could get those two pieces. I like your deal. Seems fair to me.

If not, we have a lot in the cupboards to move.

The team wouldn't lose too much with a trade like that.

We would have a nice solid roster for next season with a lot of other picks and prospects still.

The team seems to be in a great position for a change.

It means that after the Raptors implode tonight, that it's time to run the NBA draft simulator.

Can you imagine what will happen, if it happens again tonight? The three years that the Raptors had to make inroads into the Toronto fanbase will be all for not, with Matthews/Nylander/Marner taking the reigns of the Maple Leafs? Bye bye Dwayne Casey!

I know they aren't exactly McDavid/Eichel/Matthews. But Hanifin, Zacha, Provorov went 5-7 last year and they certainly aren't anything to sneeze at.

basketball sucks, i could care less what happens to the raptors

so just for people to see, matthews put up 1.28ppg while playing in the swiss league. during the lockout season, tavares (22) put up 1.5ppg, seguin (20) put up 1.38, thornton (33) put up 1.09, zetterberg (32) put up 1.39, spezza (29) put up 1.07, and bergeron (27) put up 1.38. kane, couture, and nash all put up less than matthews did. hopefully that success translates to the nhl.

also, can't wait to see what matthews does at the world championships, and what he does playing with marner at the rookie camp in london

Those names right there. Plus Rielly. The Leafs are one defenceman and goaltender away from having some semblance of a core group. One with high potential to boot.

I think some of these guys might be onto something here about one of the Anaheim goalies. I'd have 0 problems packaging PItts' 1st rounder. But again, all I see is friggin Bernier. Kings had 2 great goalies, one had to be dealt. Ok, maybe I have a couple problems

With Zaitsev there defence is just fine, very young and will get a lot better.
They do need a goalie though.
Can't trust Bernier, he might have a start like last year, catastrophy.

Hurt his development instead of playing with 15-18 year olds in the CHL and 18-22 year olds in NCAA and men in the Finnish league.

Yeah, it's tough to say. If the Leafs could pry Gibson out of Anaheim I'd say I'd be fine with the risk. The Bernier factor is concerning though.

bernier is a midget compared to andersen, and bernier never had the #1 job for a season. andersen is more than capable and should be a solid goalie for many years.
