If true, then it's about (frank)ing time. You're welcome NHL of the mid 90's and the other broke teams that the Leafs have been paying for since the lockout.
- weirdoh

Personally, i can't see how the lottery is rigged.

But even if it was, i'd say good on the leafs for (frank)ing over everyone else.

hunwick is ok on a bottom pairing though. I think he'll be bottom pairing and traded at deadline for a late pick

corrado didn't really do much and likely won't amount to anyting but he's still young. training camp will tell all with one of our young D getting a spot.

- Njuice

Not that I'm a Corsi guy, but didn't Corrado have the best Corsi on the D?

Exactly. But Garth knows things man. Take for instance on how Stamkos will go to Buffalo.

8 – In various interviews, Crawford has described Matthews as having the presence of Joe Sakic, the release of Jamie Benn, the two-way effectiveness of Anze Kopitar, and the effortless skating stride of Jean Beliveau. No pressure, though. “He’s not quite as physical as Benn or as responsible as Kopitar, but he’s got the power and all the intangibles that you want — character and humility and is just a hard-working kid.”

To me the Leafs win proves the lotto isn't rigged. When the Pens were drawing like 8,000 a game and threatening to move to KC, then won Crosby it raised some eyebrows. But Toronto is always a thriving market whether the team sucks or not.

To me if you're the NHL and you're going to rig the lotto, a team like Arizona or the Canes win it.

I like the optimism, but it's Garth. We'll have blogs and blogs of conspiracies, bad calls, illegal goals, etc to discredit everything that happens.

The next big beauty will be when, please god make it a when, not an if, Stamkos signs here.

Yup.

At one point the Leafs had a 1 in 11 chance of winning.

It's rigged. It just dawned on me, remember this quote?

By the way, Toronto fans are not happy Montreal got everything for its 100th anniversary while Los Angeles got All-Star and the draft went to Chicago for theirs. At the NBA All-Star Game, I ran that by a Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment exec who said, "When everything is announced, it will all make sense."

Thanks NHL for the 1st pick. I'd rather that then the stupid draft and all star game.

The best thing about this Leafs team is the fact that pretty much all our players and prospects are known for not being one-dimensional... Marner is great without the puck. Brown, Hyman too.. Matthews is getting Kopitar comparisons.. Kadri really stepped up his defensive game.. Sosh, Nylander, and JVR need some work, but thats what Babs is here for.

same article

So... what else could there be? A special clause that gets the Leafs two points every single game they play, sweeping the regular season en route to the Stanley Cup? Steven Stamkos? Auston Matthews? Steven Stamkos, Auston Matthews, and a retroactive lottery ball fix that brings Connor McDavid, too?

2/3 ain't bad in that last line.
