Plus he says that the Leafs should trade Matthews for 2 prospects. That will make us better. But it will leave Connor Brown without a spot. Connor Brown who he says is going to be awesome. But yes what you said at the end of your post sums it up best.

Barfs new blog tin foil hat conspiracy theory, check. Hilarious spelling errors, check. Butt hurt, check.

Mathews isn't as good as mcdavid, and he's Certainly not as good as eichel....

I stopped reading after he put Eichel on McDavid's level. Eichel had 8 more points than McDavid while playing in 36 MORE GAMES. Yep. Pretty equal to me.

and Hall had double the points over Seguin in their first year.

Come on Eichel is going to be a very good player.

Seguin played on the third line, with limited PP time. Hall was handed the reins instantly. Not comparable to McDavid/Eichel.

Yes, Eichel will be a great player. Not McDavid good, which was my point.

Gary BBettman's first words at the draft, "we have a trade" Toronto's 1st(Mattews), Toronto's other 1st(from Pitt), And Kadri to Arizona for OEL, strome, domi, and Arizona's 1st, there you go, we get a center man, winger, and a D MAN, then call Anahiem and trade for Anderson. Playoff bound

Shanahan mentioned a few things that point to him being open to the idea. He stressed that this is a team game and it takes more than one player in this day and age to win. He mentioned that this pick is good for the team and that the Leafs know who they want to draft.

If we remember the Lindros deal, we see that a team can look too much to one player and lose sight of the overall goal. That trade created the juggernaut Av's team for years to come.

I think the Leafs would like the younger Nylander. I also think they would have been happy picking 4th for Tkachuk. If Arizona were to offer their 7th pick overall which the Leafs would most likely be able to pick one of these guys, and then offer Domi and either Strome or Dvorak to facilitate the deal, the Leafs may consider as this would fill out their roster for the future with prospects that Hunter knows and appreciates. It would also give the team a head start in gelling, as the entire top 6 would know each other's playing styles greatly. The Leafs would probably ask for Jarred Tinordi to get insure a strong defensive prospect.

Arizona is not giving up OEL for anything. They will also not give away Strome, Dvorak, and Domi, but they may give up 2 outta 3. The Leafs would need a defensive prospect to come back as well. This is the most real scenario, and still a long shot.

My personal opinion is this would be a trade to make.

No kidding. And trading our 1st overall.

Unless it's McDavid coming back I'm not trading that pick for anything.

Leafs lacking in trash player, need to bring some poop in that can't play to balance everything out.

Anyone who suggests leafs acquire poop like tinordi should face automatic ban for stupidity. The leafs are rebuilding, they are in the business of acquiring good/great players. Guys that can't find a job on poop teams are not on their radar.

I'd have thought that people have been paying attention lately, this management group isn't looking for trash players anymore. They're making smart choices.

Could you imagine if the Leafs somehow knock it outta the park with Pittsburgh's pick? Like a Perry, Giroux or Carlson

From Garf:

"The Leafs may or may not end up selecting the Arizona native first overall at the June 24 NHL Draft in Buffalo. I would not be shocked at all if the Leafs traded the #1 overall pick to the Coyotes in exchange for their 7th overall pick, all world D-man Oliver Ekman-Larsson, forwards Max Domi and Dyland Strome, and some draft choices."

Don't see the 'yotes making that deal.

I am going to live in fear over the next couple of months that the Leafs out-smart themselves and trade the pick to AZ for some package including Strome.

This management group has done some good things, but they seem to be the type to make a deal like that.

Strome is Bust McBustFace.

Just hold the pick and take Matthews. Don't get too clever.
