I really wouldn't mind drafting Gauthier around 17/18, if he's still there. I think that he could be a really good compliment to Konecny in the future.

i checked button's draft list earlier today. he had mcleod at 17 in january. he's at 15 on the march list. i don't know if that's his final version.

I am not a McLeod fan from my viewings. I mean...he's likable as a late first rounder or something, but his offensive ceiling is questionable. He works hard, skates fast, has size though. But his hands and offensive instincts just aren't there for how high he's been touted. He could be a solid 2-way checking center though. He's almost like the forward Chychrun of the draft to me (that's meant as a critique).

settle down pal, explain what was unfair or funny first before opening your yap
- Ross77

settle down? ok, anyway. i think you were answered already, but moral of the story is neither team would do this deal, i thought it wasn't a fantastic idea. apologies for saying it was a laugher before explaining why

If by compliment him you mean has no hockey IQ, can't skate well, but sits in front of the net and has size, yes. Compliments him like red wine and BBQ Fritos.

I have a working knowledge of the second, but all the NA 1st rounders I believe I have seen multiple times. Some more than others. Try to read up a lot too. McLeod gives me pause. Not in a bust way, just a low ceiling way. And he's been touted top 10 most of the year. Scouts have soured on him a bit of late.

The value that you place on Taylor Hall. Neither the Flyers nor the Oilers would do that deal.
- jmatchett383

not disagreeing with you, but edmonton has to do something. I am probably alone but i think Simmonds is over rated and I can tell you from watching him alot sanheim is soft, i think his ceiling and i mean his top ceiling is bowmeaster, so if im philly i make this trade all day and throw in 2nd or 3rd no problem

little caesars arena.

at least it's not a financial institution. and in a way, it's kind of fitting. caesar having arenas back in the day.

- hammarby31

should of struck a deal with Buffalo Wild Wings, the marketing does itself

I am curious to see what happens to the coaching staff.

I could see Murphy retained.

Wonder if Lappy and Mullen are? I think they need a new perspective on the PP and PK units.

I like McLeod, i think he could be a steal in this draft, i see a player similar to Toews, not as good but similar

Indeed.

They adjusted from adequate to hilariously putrid in the absence of Couturier

but you also have to think about the affect on the locker room. the difference between our room and others is that its tight knit, people have each other's backs, they lead by example and follow that example. a team like ours without that chemistry i doubt even makes it to the playoffs. we scratched and clawed and got to the playoffs because we were, in all definitions of the word, a team. trading your top goal scorer and net front presence, in addition to one of your top blue line prospects, and an additional draft pick?

He's a very good player dont get me wrong. but he has been injury prone, he's been in the NHL since 2010 and only last year was his only full season. i think he would make an excellent complement to G on the top line, on the PP, etc. But i think it wouldn't have the desired effects.

i agree, bouwmeester would be fine by me. The eberle rumors finally died down, only a matter of time before the Yakupov rumors are fired up again
