we need a coach that comes in a imparts an actual system of play. THis bunch has none. We need to employ a defense system for our D that has sensible zone exit strategies (none currently), rebound collection and proper forecheck/backcheck. Also one that protects the goalies weak spots. We have none of that. Since our D coach has come on board we have had the worst D in the NHL. THat speaks volumes.

WD is also not very good either. Rolls lines in sequence 1234 1234 1234 no matter whats actually going on in the game. Cant adjust a game worth a sh(t. Makes extremely questionable lineup decisions....such as playing dorsett top minutes when down a goal, playing him on every line.

Guys getting schooled by other coaches every night. Every television broadcasters are making fun of him on live TV. Not NHL calibre so why have him here?

THe true reason though is to impart a new system of play, one that teaches players where to be on the ice it will take time for players to learn and not truly contending will be a reality. We need these young players learning this system NOW, not later. THats why you do it now. So we can have it in place to be contender in a few years.
Look at hitchcock (a true teaching coach) n the blues....theyve been coming on and getting stronger for years as players learn his preachings on player position. Now they finally are ready to make a run but it took quite some time. Lets get this type coach in place so in a few years we can be there too with a strong team.

Obviously. If the team doesn't win the cup, that means there were no offensive or defensive systems instilled by the coach.

But the problem lies even deeper with the Canucks. Since there were so many injuries with the team, I would clean house on the training and medical staff. If the trainers were any good or had any real medical systems in place, there wouldn't be this many injuries or this many long term injuries.

I'm not sure which medical trainers are out there but if any are let go this summer, the Canucks should be all over them.
