I was just reading on Twitter about the Rangers and changes coming. At this point speculation , but some names thrown out there are Stepan, Brassard, Kreider, McDonah, Nash and Yandle.
With AVs history I bet we are in for hours of discussion. - VANTEL
Ya sounds like they're gonna try and shake things up there. That Rick Nash contract is a huge anchor; can't believe they paid Marc Staal 5.7 million per....da (frank) |

We should probably fire the coach and GM every year we don't win the cup because if there's anything that helps strengthen an organization it's instability. - golfingsince
Obviously. If the team doesn't win the cup, that means there were no offensive or defensive systems instilled by the coach.
But the problem lies even deeper with the Canucks. Since there were so many injuries with the team, I would clean house on the training and medical staff. If the trainers were any good or had any real medical systems in place, there wouldn't be this many injuries or this many long term injuries.
I'm not sure which medical trainers are out there but if any are let go this summer, the Canucks should be all over them.

They have screwed themselves long term as well giving away prospects and picks for players like Staal and Yandle. |

Just reading Jan Lavine's blog . I wonder if they will take a run at Stamkos. He would fit the bill. |

They are balls up against the wall for cap space and prospects. I can see a few GMs trying to rape and pillage. |

I don't always find other stuff written like this but this article finds some good beneath the bad.

Another problem with firing WD is, right now they are a losing club in transition. Putting the blame of the season and letting go of the head coach takes that big target off the coach and shifts it to the GM with the same transitioning team. Before firing the coach, you better make sure the team is ready to turn the corner, because as GM you are the next target. |

Yes....great example of a team still trying to buy a Cup. Their recent draft history is pathetic. |

Apart from Skjei, Tambellini and Skapski, who do they have?
I do think they are in need of a shake up though. |

NY will always be able to buy its way out of problems. Everyone wants to play there. |

I would target JT Miller or Kevin Hayes. Brassard and Stepan could use a change of scenary but not sure that ever happens. |

Hopefully Benning can explain to Gorton how Linden Vey helped him accelerate the rebuilding process in Vancouver.
Do the Rangers still have a second round pick this year? |

It's only worked once for them, 1994 unfortunately, but there wasn't a cap back then. A lot more difficult now with a salary cap. They can't just make Nash's 8 million dollar cap go away, there's a huge cost to getting rid of and taking on big contracts. |

I don't know why they'd trade Brassard, he's their best skater, but I'd love to have him!!! |

Deutsch says the #Canucks made a great pitch and went hard after Lukas Bengtsson for the past 2 months but he picked Pittsburgh. |
