When I saw Morin (not much), he was good in the d-zone, had good gap control, but was a little panicky with the puck and needs to make decisions quicker. Not sure it helped that the forwards weren't always a lot of help and that Alt may have worse puck skills than Morin. I don't believe he gets called up before you said, but I would like to see a Morin-Sanheim pairing. Wouldn't surprise me to see him magically improve next year.

That would be nice. They have a decent defensive group in Allentown even without re-signing Alt.

I don't see Pettersson as more then ECHL/AHL swingman.

I think Alt is resigned.

I had no idea Hakstol was capable of smiling.

Scoring is so down over the past few years that I think sometimes we forget to slide the scale a little downward when it comes to expected point totals in today's NHL.

I wasn't listing guys that have 5+ 60-point seasons, just looking for "impact" forwards in the second half of the first round...guys that could potentially have multiple 60-point seasons.

I was critical of the hire at first, basically out of ignorance. Have to admit Hakstol did a great job getting them to the playoffs. He looks like he's a very good coach.

I get it. My point is that you may not get those guys in the top 10 let alone top 20.

I can't say I was excited but I was willing to see what happened. I was pretty down about midway through. I couldn't really see any impact and I thought some of his scratches were questionable.

The team seemed so much better organized in the second half. I think he did a really good job this season. I think most fans would say they're fairly happy with the hire.

i think he deserves more Jack Adams consideration than Barry Trotz to give an example. A monkey could have coached Washington to a high playoff birth.

Never understood why coaches of teams that are loaded always get consideration for the Adams award.

IMO it should be about the coaches that do the most with the least not the coaches that do the most with the most.

Yep. If you can get a good middle-6 guy in the back end of the first round, you're right on par. A guy who is a 30-40 point scorer but can max out at 50 for a few seasons is what one can expect as a hit. Getting a Giroux/Tarasenko type is the exception.

I didn't like a lot of his lineup decisions, but I guess there was a method.

It's hard to have a room full of star players and get them to mesh with each other and learn that they're not always going to be "the man." I'm not saying it's harder than taking a bunch of middle-6 guys and bottom-4 defenders and making the playoffs, just that it's not true than any coach can coach a star team well.

As was said, Adam Oates.

Loved it from day one. Wanted a coach I never heard of with no ties and got it. No retread either. He did a great job but how many coaches have 1 or 2 good or great years just for change sake? I just hope he has a sustainable message and that the players like playing for him

I just hope they can get a guy who has good hands, and good size with decent speed. (I know right?)

I loved the Konecny pick, but I would prefer they stay away from any more Smurfs for the time being.

I have no issues with Schultz being a 5 or 6 dman..Not every guy in your top 6 needs to be a two way player and to me he is one of those send them out there for a shift and dont worry about them types.
- opeth_pa

He needs to be in the 5-7 range. He was able to elevate his game and if he does that he will stay in the lineup for an extended period of time. We do know that he is very consistent and he can be counted on if needed, but ultimately the Flyers are in a better place if he can be upgraded either this year or next

I would want Gudas on multi-year deal. He was good this season. 3rd best defenseman on the team after Ghost and MDZ. Also, complements both of them well

If there's a Johnny Gaudreau type available at 17/18, they'd better take him.
