Buying him out doesn't make sense. One more year and he's gone. Maybe he should just retire. I'm sure hextal will allow him to seek a trade this offseason and he'll see nobody would even take him at a huge discount.

However, I looked at our cap and it sits at 10 mil in space with a stagnant cap. Wtf. I've never seen this for the Flyers. Imagine moving streit. Or umberger. Or both !!!!! Omfg!!!!! Or mcdud. Lolololol.

I like Baby Schenn. I want him signed. 4-5 years, 4.5-4.75 would be preferable. Maybe touch 5, but then keep the years down. But he is not safe in my mind. IF there are offers out there, he might have some very high value right now. Maybe never higher. Hexy will do his diligence, even if he's resigned rather quickly.

I watched Phantoms games for most of the year. He's solid. He'll do well in a more structured system with better players making better decisions. Not that it means anything but I said the same thing about Gostisbehere. You could see they were doing things and having to wait far too often for the players they were with on the ice to do the right thing/be in the right place.

If he's not checking things out, Hexy isn't a good GM. Sure it's probably 85% likely, but it doesn't have the inevitability of the Couturier signing...or even Ghost's new contract this offseason...

Alls I'm saying is: listen to his demands, sniff out his league value, explore all avenues. I still think he's being signed.
