I don't need to see Matt Read play another game in a Flyers uniform. - MFC
Unfortunately, I think we are stuck with him

LA Times reported yesterday, with quotes from Lucic, that he does not intend to test UFA market this summer and his intention is sign an extension with LA. |

so we're back to lucic? - 2Real
Yup..wouldnt be a bad addition to this team assuming it's not an insane contract but Bill's post above puts an end to that pretty much. |

Darren Dreger just reported the same thing on TSN radio.

Matt Martin is a UFA. Isles 4th line seems to do a good job. - 3flyerkids
I think Matt Martin is actually a solid 4th line player, but that line also has Clutterbuck and Czikas. In all but 1/7 of Clutterbuck's full NHL seasons has he failed to hit 11 goals. 15+ in 3 of them. Czikas just hit 30 points this year. They don't just hit, even if they lead the league in it. They're probably the gold standard of a 4th line: hit, score, possess. Martin might be the least important of the 3.
Not to mention it doesn't get me excited to pay top dollar for a true 4th liner. Good 4th lines aren't hard to assemble if a coach/GM think outside of what a prototypical 4th liner is. Maybe one day we can ice a Fazleev-Cousins-Ghoul 4th line. |

I would have loved Zac running Ovechkin, it still infuriates me he got away with nothing for running Couter. Flyers need a tough guy that can actually play, a guy with huge energy, bring back Mad Dog Kelly - joegreif17
Yeah, this is a horrible idea. Not only because OV would just brace himself and put Rinaldo on his ass, but because we have enough trouble killing penalties as it was without bringing back Emperor 2-5-10. |

In what world has Stafford ever scored 30 goals and Tyler Myers scored 46 points? Those comparisons are garbage and you know it. It is laughable that you think one tweak will turn a bottom feeder into a playoff team...... Buffalo needs a lot of tweaks..... - xShoot4WarAmpsx
To be fair - and I'm not defending the trolling...both of those things did happen.

We need size but adding a 4th liner to address it is kind of pointless. We need it in the top six.
Does LA even have the cap room to resign Lucic? |

I don't even think LA should resign him they need to fix their defense |

I think they will.
Schenn and Vinny will be gone.
They will probably try to move Brown. Most likely have to eat about half that money.

Bradford is such a baby he's done nothing in the NFL and is upset when the Eagles try to improve their team. He wants out? ok send him to the Santa Clara 49ers or he can be a franchise QB in the CFL - 2Real
I agree. He's being kind of a female dog about this whole thing. |

Bill or anyone else,
Who from the phantoms is probably getting a look for a roster spot(forwards) next season?
I know Leier but anyone else you think could earn a spot with a good camp? |

They do...their situation is bleak though...they need to get rid of somebody pretty soon...will have to retain on Brown and or Gaborik. They will have around 10 million but they really need to find a way to keep their young guys |

Brown has 6 years at an AAV of $5.875 million. He's barely a 3rd liner anymore hitting ~27 points in 3 seasons in a row. I don't think he's remotely movable. Maybe if they eat half the money and package Toffoli lol |

I can see it from Bradfords side.
They probably promised him a bunch of things, like using all these picks to help solidify things like receivers and line help. But now those picks have been used to solidify bradfords replacement.
The eagles brought this on themselves. |

Brown is one of the worst contracts in the league. Guy fell off a cliff. And then another cliff. |

In what world could Bradford think a 2 year deal means you're the guy in the future? Any reasonable player would realize a 2 year deal means you're cannon fodder until the next guy comes in. Bradford is getting paid a poop ton of money for accomplishing nothing in his career AND he's a guy that has made excuses at EVERY level for why he's failed. |

Konecny or Martel maybe from my view of contracted players. |
