What about Milan Lucic who is a ufa. I know he has said he wants to stay in LA but i think it would be a good fit for what the flyers need. Secondary scoring i think he had north of 50 points this year and much needed size to battle teams like washington and the islanders.

Beyond what our young Sabre's fan is spewing....I will say this...ANY player can be traded. I don't think it's Hextall's desire to move Giroux. He has constantly said he will look at everything if it makes team better today and tomorrow...what is there like 15 guys in the league that would fit that bill that would have to come the other way in a deal for the captain.
Yes Giroux and Vorecek were very disappointing but I think they are both here for the long haul....The Flyers need to continue to build from the draft and move in some young talent as they become ready. The core is good but like any team can be upgraded.
I think there's still a 3-4 year window for Giroux...Hopefully that's enough time for Hextall to add some pieces.

Thank god for Robin Lehner in goal, they didn't resign that stiff Michael Neuvirth.

i feel like either toronto or buffalo are going to be very disappointed.

although to be fair, i dont know if i categorize the addition of one of the league's premier goal scorers, one of the largest names relative to their career arc to EVER be allowed to hit UFA, as just being a little old tweak

Well they had to trade him. He was ruining their chances for McDav....

If Eichel slumps next year and your team misses the playoffs are we allowed to come into your board and tell you how awful everyone on your team is?

One thing the trade Giroux brigade often fails to acknowledge or even realize is, if the Flyers do trade him, the chances of getting anything close to full value is slim. What good does it do to trade Giroux for 75 cents on the dollar, especially when the biggest issue in the playoffs was that nobody else could step up and provide offense when the Caps focused on shutting down Giroux?

On top of that, that lack of depth is another issue. There's nothing close to Giroux in the system right now. Maybe they find another in the draft, but right now, he's pretty much it. He still scored at an elite level this season and despite a bad playoff coming off a 10-12 week stretch where the team was basically playing playoff games every night, Giroux was a huge part of that.

i dont think lucic is very helpful for the flyers. i mean yeah he will provide some benefit, but overall, just not worth it.

when he declines, its going to come fast and sharp. and the length of the deal will take you into those years. at a high price. him and simmonds will be competing for the same spot on the PP, and he is another guy that needs to be a passenger on a line.

would be perfect to hate though.

?

The New York Islanders improved their goaltending depth by making a trade for Buffalo Sabres goaltender Michal Neuvirth. The Isles sent backup goal Chad Johnson and a third-round draft pick in 2016 to the Sabres according to John Shannon of Sportsnet.

eh. i'll admit they are in fact getting there. both of them have done a great job at collecting pieces. but next year? nah. i just dont see it. playoffs for buffalo could come sooner rather than later, but it takes time to learn how to win in them.
