its unreal. anyone saying they saw this coming is full of poop. none of them are THAT talented. but they are competent, absolutely full of hustle and fly everywhere. speed and hunger to burn. they don't have a drouin among them.

but rust and kuhnackle are both good bottom 6 guys. and i've seen enough of sheary to want him with crosby full time, now and in the future.

It's a weird draft: outside of a couple players, 4 to maybe 12-14 is so close. I think there's some overrated players in there that don't really separate themselves imo from those below, and some below who I like better than the consensus. It's a real cluster (frank) in that range. I think if they really covet a Jost or Keller (I wouldn't move up for Jost I think), cost goes down. Both could be outside top ten, and suddenly cost decreases a lot for a player of better value and equal talent in that range. I'd do that and only that to move up, if I'm Hexy.

He's insane. Forget just farmland...I would trade Old MacDonald, Dorothy Gale, Tom Joad and their entire families, the painting "American Gothic," and stock in Farmer's Insurance to get Laine.

Problem is they'd still ask for 2 of Sanheim, Provorov, Konecny or something absurd to get to picks 1 or 2.

I used to hate the penguins a lot more than I do now...maybe because I dont live there anymore, but I think mostly because they purged a lot of the garbage that came with playing the Flyers. This year they just went right down to business. Malkin and Letang top the list but a lot of the other guys I liked before they were Pens (Kessel, Hags, Maatta, Hornqvist)

Agree we need both, but wasn't he asking or turned down a 6 year deal with a cap near 6 Mil? Id think he'd be a nice addition with his scoring and physical play, but I think I'd prefer Backes even over him which would shape our Cs nicely
