So if Bradford shows improvement to the point where we make the 2nd round, the Eagles would be fools to cut him. They would likely have him play out his 2nd year. There's no concerns with Wentz sitting two years if it means that the Eagles are winning and Wentz is learning. It's really a win-win for the Eagles. That's why the contract was structured as such. And Bradford (and his agent) are not idiots. They knew what they were signing up for.
Again, Bradford has no basis for his complaint here... - steelydan
OK.
how many reps is Wentz getting with Bradford(starter) and Daniels(backup) getting majority of the reps?
Also I find it hard to believe that if Bradford plays at a good level like taking team to 2nd round of playoffs that you can just move on from him for an unproven QB. There will be growing pains.

They have Goligoski to resign too. It may be a case of one or the other, and I believe I read they are more keen on resigning Goligoski. I also don't know where Kris Russell comes into things. But even without him, Demers has a solid chance of hitting FA. He'd probably be taking a discount contract to stay with the Stars. - Mononoke
They have close to 20 million in cap space is what im saying...surely they might only want to commit to one of them long term, but one is 27 and one is 30 |

With a proven player like Jake, I think you'd prefer mental issues vs. physical issues. He's done it before and he can do it again. He just shakes off the mental issue. Easier said than done, I'm sure; but it's much preferable to a chronic ankle, etc. - steelydan
The physical issues caused the mental issues late in the season. Early it was mental. I've said this before: early in the season he was vintage Jake in terms of creating chances. He just was unbelievably unlucky, and it weighed on him. But after this, he was over a PPG for something like 34 games mid-way through the season. Everyone neglects that. He found his game. Then right in the midst of this, he suffered the injury he's been dealing with up to now. He wasn't the same after that.
People need to take a chill pill with Jake. He will come back next September strong and healthy. |

The offseason will hopefully be good for him. He wouldnt be the first highly paid player to have a down year statistically. The talent is there...its not as if he suddenly became a bad player - YuenglingJagr
Absolutely. I'm rooting for him, because if the dude puts it all together, hes a monster. I feel like 2014-2015 was just a peek of what he's capable of. Some of the plays in this series really made me scratch my head. |

i do think this just may have been a lost season for him overall. i think the sample size is much larger for productivity than whatever this void was. the previous year may be a high water mark for him, but he is an impact winger who should be good for 20-25 goals a year with 45 to 50 assists.

with more skill in the lineup and more luck...50 assists seems pretty routine. he is truly an amazing passer |

Yeah but they are losing a ton of players too. They have a lot of people to resign/sign. I think it's possible Demers re-ups, but I did read that people think Goligoski is their primary signing. So maybe they sign Demers too. But he might get an extra 1-2 years and $1+ mil on the FA market. And he'd be worth that.
I could see it going either way honestly. But a boy can dream. |

Besides Stamkos, the list isn't all that enticing as far as free agents go....
I may be the only who thinks so, but I wouldn't mind seeing Jagr brought back if the price was right. - MBFlyerfan
I think Helm would be a nice fit on the bottom-6.
Also, Dan Cleary...3 years, $3.05M per... |

i need a BiggE top 10 moments of this season
I am not sure where it will end up ranking for me...but Neuvirth on that 5 on 3 was one of the highlights for me...that was awesome to watch.
top 5 probably gets rounded out with
Simmonds game tying goal against Toronto
Girouxs goal against the Blues
Neuvirths save against the Wild
Vinny trade |

All depth. They have 3 to resign out of their top 5 defensemen so surely 1 of them and most likely 2 of them resign. Their top 7 forwards are locked up. I get what youre saying...but at what point does he not become worth it? |

he is. but scoring is pretty down leaguewide anymore. not many guys just casually dropping that in left and right these days.
i do think he can do it though. its just contingent on a lot of things, some of them out of his control.
i still think his floor is going to be around 55 points over an 80 game season though. i just don't know if the long term plan is to have him and Giroux on the same line. that's a lot of money tied up there. do you get maximum value having them together or spread out? i guess that's hard to say without knowing what they other pieces around them will necessarily be. |

In that instance the picks they used to trade up would be wasted and could have better used in making the team better(corners, pass rush, offensive line). - J35Bacher

While that Neuvy goal was probably the best save of the year (from a athletic/ remarkable stand point, as well as the timing), I think Mason had the most important save of the year when he robbed Zetterberg with that split/diving/blocker save on the breakaway in the 3rd period of a must win game. |

SHOULD FLYERS TRADE NEUVIRTH FOR TOP LINE SNIPER!?
http://www.philly.com/phi...rts/flyers/377009491.html
- PhillySportsGuy
At first, I assumed the notion that Neuvirth would be enough for a top line sniper would the dumbest thing in the article, then I came across this little tidbit:
"The Flyers need to continue filtering their D prospects into their lineup - Provorov in 2016-17 and Travis Sanheim and perhaps Sam Morin the following season."
So Provorov is a lock for next season, Sanheim will be ready to go after one AHL season, but Morin may not be ready by then. |

i'm actually a pretty big believer in bradfords game. everything about last year was disjointed as (frank).
the receivers as a whole were ridiculously bad. matthews really isn't that good at the position. your speed receivers were what, riley cooper and miles austin? behind that line you werent going to get a successful route past 15 yards with those guys before you were smashed. - stayinthefnnet

Hey guys. Long time no talk. A lot has changed for me since my 2 year ban. I no longer work in the banking industry, I'm now a para-educator for severe autism students here in De and I'm getting my masters in special education. Needless to say I no longer have 6 hours a day sitting in front of the computer, so I wont be here as much as I used to be... I'm sure your all so sad about that.
I'm still crazy about the Flyers. I don't get to too many games, about 6 a year because I wake up at 4 a.m. every morning, and during a normal game I wont get home till 11:00. But I have been to the last 3 drafts (Newark, Philly, Miami), and I'm going to try and go to Buffalo too.
So I figured I would let you guys know where I stand with the team. I love what Hextall is doing. I think this team is a lot closer then people think. IMO I would like to see a young D-Man moved for a young forward. Like a Morin for Nichushkin or a Sanheim for Drouin or RNH. I think our defense is shaping up really nice, but we really can't fit Sanheim, Morin, Ghost, Del Zotto, Provorov, and Hagg onto the same blueline.
So I would like to see the Flyers deal Neuvirth and Read for some high picks. And see if you can move MacDonald since value isn't likely to get any higher. And I would add a UFA center like Backes. Not like it will play out exactly like this, but I would like to see a team looking a bit like this....
Drouin-Giroux-Simmonds
Schenn-Couturier-Voracek
Konecny-Backes-Raffl
Bellemare-Vandevelde-White
Streit-Gostisbhere
Morin-Del Zotto
Provorov-Schultz
Mason
??
I think this team looks like its ready to compete for the cup. |
