Neuvy is definitely amazing but he can't seem to avoid injuries. |

Outstanding game from Neuvirth. Otherwise, not a pretty game but a win's a win. Time to see how strong the Caps are mentally now. And they better be without Chimera for at least 1 game. If Bellemare got a game for his hit, Chimera better get at least that. Then again, Letang can slash a guy in the throat and the league is okay with it so who knows. |

He's probably not 100 percent healthy, but man, if you're Hakstol, you gotta just look at that with open eyes and realize you are getting nothing on the right side of the ice with the PP
Voracek can possess the puck, mind you, and that matters
But it isn't working, and you have got to find something that does - AllInForFlyers
Not sure Hak knows what do, has anything to do, or would even be willing to do it...
After this debacle of a win, any lineup changes? Any changes to the 1st PP unit? Anything? |

As I said. Mix it up. What've think is that Jake has not recovered from the foot or leg injury. He's lost the ability to stop and start like before and has lost all of his first step explosive speed. He's trying to hit it out. Not working |

Wtf. Isn't this the type of game that we have and lose? Outshoot the crap out of a team and lose 4-1 on 15 shots |

I would not run the PP that way in Game 6. When Voracek was out, they used two defensemen. That was recent enough where they should be able to do it, IMO |

Good post, and I'd be sending that vid to the league. No major call on that so I suspect the refs and league will let it slide with a 2 min. Complete bs. |

The Flyers have to do what worked for them in both of their wins this series, which was get the puck to the point and for the love of God just rip it. Just shoot the puck on the PP. Anything can happen. |

I said it earlier: I'm not complaining, for exactly that reason
I've seen the Flyers lose so many games in the playoffs where the freaking goalie was the only reason they lost...nope. Not giving this one back. Not me

You're right, that's an absolute joke. The refs making the wrong call on the ice shouldn't factor into the decision to have supplemental discipline. Neither should the fact that Jake didn't lay on the ice and act hurt knowing that selling it almost always results in a 5 minute major. It's pathetic that a player has to fake being hurt in order for refs to make the right call. |

Yeah, but he has had a few giveaways this series and one or two have ended up in the net. Having said that, injured or not, Haksol can't really do much else there on the PP. Who do you put out there? Cousins maybe? I don't know what other serious viable options Hakstol has.
Anyway, for one night I don't care. Neuvy was ridiculous good and say what you want about the offensive woes, but the team as a whole played great D in front of Neuvy. Keeping most shots from the outside, blocking a ton, and generally pressuring enough to keep the play on the boards or blue line. I'll take it and I'll see y'all right here Sunday! |

Mason was a monster down the stretch for a lot longer than 2 games and has had a rough playoff, but the team has given him zilch. Now he's persona non grata around some parts. Neuvy was a (frank)ing Godzilla tonight. But you don't make decisions based on 2 games or even 20. It's why Mason's hot stretch late is not really any more valuable info than Neuvy's 2nd half decline. Same for their playoffs. And career years and then regression do happen. A lot.
If a team was willing to part with a first for Neuvy, in a Martin Jones type deal, it's a no brainer for me. I don't really see that happening, or a trade this summer, but anything is in play come next deadline. Only one can stay long term. I love having both though and first half of next year could be key. Mason does have the longer track record. And his down year this year is a myth. He was actually way better than his raw stats indicate. It's probably best to hedge their bets and keep both, barring a steal of a trade. Helps with contract demands too. |
