G took 3 or 4 huge hits starting with Subban's on our way into the playoffs. I wanna say against the Habs, Jackets, Pens and Caps all during the tail end of the regular season. The guy gets a pass from me - SuperSchennBros
He's without question hurting. He's been taking an absolute whooping every time he's on the ice for about a month now. |

Officially count me in for resigning Sam Gagner and Ryan White BTW. I'm willing to bet a lot of money right now at least one or both of these guys are back next year.
Ryan White seems to just love it here and won't be overly expensive in dollars or years.
With the season Gagner had, I think we can bring him back on a 1 or 2 year deal pretty easy. What's he worth though? And at that point, now you're talking about a gluttony of forwards. Would basically be the same team coming back with no opportunity for any Phantoms/Konecny to make the team.
We could probably buy out Matt Read and resign Gagner and White with most of the cap savings. We pay Matt Read alone almost 4 mill (3.625).
White @ 1.25 (2 yrs, 2.5 mill total) + Gagner @ 2.75 (1 year, or 2 years at 2.5 for a total of 5) + Matt Read buyout @ 1.25=5.25
Just spit balling ideas. I'd obviously rather trade Read and even retain money if we have to than buy him out, but I'm of the strong opinion that he's got to go. He's been out played by just about everybody on this roster all year with the exception of VandeVelde. He's really bad. |

I'm just finding things to be annoyed about but it's fun to me:
Why does Ovechkin always sit on the end of the bench turned sideways? Am I imagining that or is that something I see him doing all the time? Really gets on my nerves. |

From after game one:
Tom Wilson saw things differently. “It’s kind of an unwritten rule. You’re down two goals you don’t run a guy with .1 seconds left on the clock.”
Yeah, maybe a game in November a player wouldn't do that. This is the playoffs bud. - FloHaake
What does Wilson know about it being an unwritten rule. It is not OK to hit someone cleanly but it is OK to elbow Voracek in the head and smash Macdonald from behind clearly looking to injure? |

It's unwritten to him because he probably can't read. |

Actually, they're keeping him because that's the contract he signed. Reality isn't NHL 16 where you make all the trades you want and build a super dynasty because your smarter than an Xbox.
Anybody who know's just about anything about the NHL know's the goalie market is (basically) always flooded. Hextall didn't trade Neuvirth because there wasn't a single GM in the league that was going to give Hextall even close to what he wanted for Neuvirth - and good on him.
He's worth much more to the team than the lousy return we would have gotten in the trade. Probably the best 1-2 goalie combo in the league coming back next year for less of a cap hit than some teams pay their starter. - mochoson
This.

I wouldn't female dog, honestly, but that means we'd need a winger to fill that open spot.

I forgot we got LA's 3rd. Good stuff. Blues need to finish the job tonight against the Hawks and those picks will be higher than anyone thought they'd be. |

It's contingent on the roster. There is absolutely zero drop off in his game from wing to center, even if he's best used as a winger. He's a smart 3 zone player who can face whatever type of competition, he's respectable on draws, he makes his linemates better. This organization has a huge prospect hole at center ice, but Raffl might make a good stop gap there. He'd be a 30+ point 3C who doesn't need sheltering. And I think he's a legit 3C, whereas someone like Cousins is a bit of a reach.
And that winger might be dark horse Lindblom. |

Raff really is an unsung hero.
For all the talk the 4th liners get and for all the flak G/Jake get (especially this year...warranted or not)- Raffl has been steady as a rock for what he does. Plays with size too. Good complimentary player. |
