From after game one:
Tom Wilson saw things differently. “It’s kind of an unwritten rule. You’re down two goals you don’t run a guy with .1 seconds left on the clock.”
Yeah, maybe a game in November a player wouldn't do that. This is the playoffs bud. - FloHaake
How does one make it to the NHL and not understand playing to the whistle is the way of life?
Oh yeah, it's not like their guys try to go after us at the end of every other period.

Nick Schultz was an absolute beast last night. It was really upsetting that they didn't score on that four minute power play with Schultz's nose bleeding like a running faucet on the bench. Really liked what I saw from him, really for the whole series so far. Guy is a warrior. |

I should take the opportunity to offer praise for him, as well -- he's not the best defenseman ever, and I was not a fan of the multiyear extension he got.
But damn, does that guy have heart. Taking Ovechkin slappers on the PK like he has...he's got heart. I have a lot of respect for what he has done for the team.

Anyone who thinks neuvirth should have been traded can kiss my ass. Love mason. Love neuvirth more. - hammarby31
He should have been traded. It doesnt matter how good he is playing, fact is his performance is pointless. Flyers are going to lose this series and even if they did win they are not going to get close to the Cup. Meaning rather than trading a #1 goalie for assets for the future they are keeping him for a pointless run. |

Let's not forget Read. G has to be playing injured. Read is just flat out shot.
Please tell me next year is the last year on his deal. |

How bout this caps fan back there saying how Schenn runs around trying to kill people all the time
I'll bet he's the first one to jump off his couch when Ovechkin skates all the way from (frank)ing I95 to try to blow someone into the next zipcode at least 5 times a game
"THIS IS WHAT HE DOES. WHEN HE'S NOT SCORING GOALS, THIS IS HOW HE GETS INTO THE GAME."
Get the (frank) outta here bro. Don't you have some tapes to send the league |

I was always a Nuevy fan but the emergence of Holtby made him expendable. Nuevy had some opportunities to become the #1 in DC but he seemed to have the ability to get hurt at inopportune times. I think the last time he got hurt in DC was when he stepped on a puck during warm-ups and injured himself. It is good to see him playing so well, just not against the Caps. I like the guy though, can't help but admire his game last night as frustrating as it was to watch. - yossarian

G took 3 or 4 huge hits starting with Subban's on our way into the playoffs. I wanna say against the Habs, Jackets, Pens and Caps all during the tail end of the regular season. The guy gets a pass from me

I'll get blasted for saying this but I would like to try G at LW at some point in the future. Obviously not right now with the Coots injury but maybe at some point just to give it a look. |

I also am a big fan of Ryan White, and have been pretty much all year. He's a guy you notice, especially for a fourth line grinder light on skill. |

Actually, they're keeping him because that's the contract he signed. Reality isn't NHL 16 where you make all the trades you want and build a super dynasty because your smarter than an Xbox.
Anybody who know's just about anything about the NHL know's the goalie market is (basically) always flooded. Hextall didn't trade Neuvirth because there wasn't a single GM in the league that was going to give Hextall even close to what he wanted for Neuvirth - and good on him.
He's worth much more to the team than the lousy return we would have gotten in the trade. Probably the best 1-2 goalie combo in the league coming back next year for less of a cap hit than some teams pay their starter. |
