Very well could be. He and Jake just look spent. Zero push or jump at all in the o zone. It's not like either of them to be this pathetic. Some of it is surely the caps, but I notice for Jake he has no speed burst.

Way he's moving it looks like a LBI. I'm guessing a sports hernia.

Don't forget guys like Morin who are traveling with the team and watching firsthand. This is great experience for everyone

I thought Jake and his line had good energy last night...nothing really materialized for them, but hopefully they build upon their performance Sunday.

G is struggling. 1 shot, just under 7 minutes PP time, and 42% faceoffs.

- wolfhounds

the faceoffs more than anything make me think he is hurt. He ate up Richards in the regular seasons games and he is struggling even against him. I would be shocked if he wasn't nursing something. He isn't a big guy and plays many minutes including PK.

Where's 2real? Maybe that was a good trade getting rid of vinny and Schenn? Haha

Lowest amount of shots on net in flyer history.

Not playoff history.....history!!

With 6 power plays. People are failing to grasp how historically bad this was

That was ugliest damn game. No way in hell we should've won that. What an incredible night from Neuvy. He deserves every ounce of praise for that win. You just expected the Flyers to misplay the puck, overskate, not clear the zone, not control the puck on entries, not be able to setup shop on the PP, get beaten in every puck battle, lose the faceoff when they needed it.... just 100% total poop.

Neuvy's not God. If we play like that on Sunday we're done.

No, it was a solidly played game and if they repeat the effort tomorrow I'm certain they'll pull off another win...

Scuderi/Schenn as 3/4 might be an issue. And running Doughty into w/30 minutes per didn't help.

2nd on the team behind Streit in toi for the playoffs. And only 8 shots through 4 games. Hopefully he's home eating and sleeping, getting ready to carry his team to a W tomorrow.

Anyone see wilsons female dogy interview after the game. Basically said I'm sick and tird of talking about philly. We just need to get the job. Done. Love it. No pressure Washington. Haha

found it
he seemed a little annoyed at the flyers flipping pucks off the glass into the neutral zone

IKR... You just know it has to be in the Caps heads how they dominated, and got shut out. Embarrassing.

took the words right out of my keyboard
there's definitely something wrong with him

also i can't even put my finger on what was bugging me so much about richards last night but he just seemed bratty and it wasn't a good look for him

and carlson at the end of the game, did his stick hit vandevelde ?

Obviously I want them to win and win a cup but honestly I didn't care if they went down 4 straight as long as they played hard. this to me was all cream.....to take this to 6 games how and giving me another game to watch is awesome. I think lessons learned for the likes of Ghost, Manning, Cousins, and Laughton (despite missing a lot of the series) is important.

for all the people who say G is getting old for the prospect pool coming along, remember OV is 30, Malkin will be 30 come next season, Thornton 36, Pavelski 31, etc etc. I think its silly to feel as tho Giroux is too old for the next core of prospects. the key is to keep building around G, Simmonds, Jake, Schenn and Coots.

- nastyflyergirl

I think next season will be telling for giroux. The past 2-3 weeks he's look flat out ineffective. I said last night, that whenever our flyers get eliminated, whenever it may be, that I hope he comes out and says he has an injury. G is my all time favorite player, so I'm hoping I'm just overreacting. But like I said, he just doesn't seem to be himself. Making no time and space for himself, taken off the puck too easily, passes that should hit the stick 10/10 times are missing his linemate's sticks, etc.

I don't know what is more amazing. Neuvirth's performance or winning the game 2-0 on 11 shots including an empty net goal
- funmaster18

they really only had 10 shots. and if you don't count the EN, it's really 9.

ridiculous.

So crazy. They are obviously up against a better opponent. They are smaller, slower and less skilled. It's like Rocky. They got punched in the face for twelve rounds, but refuse to stay down.

I loved Hakstols response to all the complaints the Caps are filing with the league. "We take a lot of pride playing the game the right way and playing hard. I'm not getting involved in any of that stuff"

He's taken on so much responsibility. This team is so devoid of talent and to be in this position is a minor miracle.

The more I think about it it's really hard to imagine them sending konecny back next year. They have such a need for his skills. He'll be placed in the right situations (not on a checking line) on the pp2 unit. Look at a guy like Robby fabbri and the success he's having in these playoffs.

as much as I like Vinny and Luke I am glad the kings lost because I really couldn't stomach hearing the whining over how 3 more ex Flyers won another cup elsewhere. Same applies to the caps so I hope they crash and burn too
- nastyflyergirl

i would have just added more states to my spree. and omg, i didn't really give a rats ass about the caps before this series, but i f'ng have rage for them. so yeah, crash and f'ng burn.

whiney ass broadcasters, fans (ok the first two probably apply to most), players and coach. I am so sick of them and hope they do their usual crash and burn. it makes me laugh every time I see Wilson interviewed talking about cheap hits. Mirror maybe? hey caps, just shut the (frank) up
- nastyflyergirl

They are toast. Jake looks very hurt. They've been playing playoff hockey for far longer than anyone else. It has to take a toll
- Just5

if they're both that hurt and that ineffective, play some young guys who are fresh. how much (frank)ing worse can they be?

i know this will never happen. just sayin'.
