Obviously I want them to win and win a cup but honestly I didn't care if they went down 4 straight as long as they played hard. this to me was all cream.....to take this to 6 games how and giving me another game to watch is awesome. I think lessons learned for the likes of Ghost, Manning, Cousins, and Laughton (despite missing a lot of the series) is important.

for all the people who say G is getting old for the prospect pool coming along, remember OV is 30, Malkin will be 30 come next season, Thornton 36, Pavelski 31, etc etc. I think its silly to feel as tho Giroux is too old for the next core of prospects. the key is to keep building around G, Simmonds, Jake, Schenn and Coots.

Don't forget guys like Morin who are traveling with the team and watching firsthand. This is great experience for everyone

Yea. How'd he miss that performance coming!

You could see a 44 save shutout performance by nuevirth coming a mile away

I don't know what is more amazing. Neuvirth's performance or winning the game 2-0 on 11 shots including an empty net goal

Anyone see wilsons female dogy interview after the game. Basically said I'm sick and tird of talking about philly. We just need to get the job. Done. Love it. No pressure Washington. Haha

It's f'ng preposterous they won that game. No way they win another like that.
- hammarby31

its nice that they won one of those lop sided shots games for once. how many times have the Flyers been on the other side of one of those? I still think they will win but the caps have to be sweating a bit

Anyone who thinks neuvirth should have been traded can kiss my ass. Love mason. Love neuvirth more.
- hammarby31

I agree 100%. you can never have too many goalies. Its a shame Neuvirth got hurt causing Mason to be overplayed to the point of being spent but thankfully the Flyers have two solid goalies.

I just watched the postgame interviews and it hit me that all but G were lit up by cameralights. I do wonder if G might be a bit lightsensitive and having some concussion symptoms.

On the other hand, that should've been pretty obvious to the beats so maybe not.

- PhillySteen

Very well could be. He and Jake just look spent. Zero push or jump at all in the o zone. It's not like either of them to be this pathetic. Some of it is surely the caps, but I notice for Jake he has no speed burst.

Both are amazing. Absolute miracle that we won. Another effort like that tomorrow and we'll be golfing

Just as amazing as Neuvirth's performance is the fact that we are going to game 6 with NO production from G,Jake, Schenn, and Simmonds.
Time to contribute boys.

If Neuvy keeps playing like he did last night the Flyers move on to the next round. Caps played good last night but Neuvy was looking like the Canadians Halak a few years ago when the Presidents trophy Caps were sent packing in the first round.
Should be a good game tomorrow.

I thought Jake and his line had good energy last night...nothing really materialized for them, but hopefully they build upon their performance Sunday.

G is struggling. 1 shot, just under 7 minutes PP time, and 42% faceoffs.

suck it, kings.
- hammarby31

as much as I like Vinny and Luke I am glad the kings lost because I really couldn't stomach hearing the whining over how 3 more ex Flyers won another cup elsewhere. Same applies to the caps so I hope they crash and burn too

Chimera should be suspended.
That hit gets 5 and a game in the regular season.

Manning has been a pleasant surprise. He's handled the playoff pressure very well.
Gudas and AMac also. Schultz is a warrior.

Very proud of what this group of #5 6 7 type of D men are pulling off for the Flyers.

Chimera should be suspended, I agree. Probably won't but should be.

Can't stand Tom Wilson. He's climbing the latter to most hated in Philly.

As great as Neuvirth has been, I still feel the only way we win is if our top players start contributing. This is the worst stretch of play I have ever seen from G

There was nothing sustainable that happened in the last game. Not even for another period. That was the worst playoff performance I've ever seen from flyer skaters. Minus the goalie

I agree. Ghost and Mason looked the same way. It's the problem with not having depth and relying on your top players too much

CBC feed said the Caps were "upset at Schenn for running around like a heat seeking missile in game one..."

.....the Capitals. Who play with Ovechkin and Wilson.

- Giroux_Is_God

whiney ass broadcasters, fans (ok the first two probably apply to most), players and coach. I am so sick of them and hope they do their usual crash and burn. it makes me laugh every time I see Wilson interviewed talking about cheap hits. Mirror maybe? hey caps, just shut the (frank) up

I was always a Nuevy fan but the emergence of Holtby made him expendable. Nuevy had some opportunities to become the #1 in DC but he seemed to have the ability to get hurt at inopportune times. I think the last time he got hurt in DC was when he stepped on a puck during warm-ups and injured himself. It is good to see him playing so well, just not against the Caps. I like the guy though, can't help but admire his game last night as frustrating as it was to watch.

I just want to see some new blood. Hoping the Blues win too. Sharks, Stars, Ducks and Blues would be a very good second round in the west

There's an article on NHL.com questioning his retirement. I think he retires, better to be on top then have another Philly situation. Take the advice of St Louis, it's over.
- coffee junkie

so what if he tells LA he wants to still play and to see if there is a taker for him elsewhere? Can the Kings trade him retaining some salary as well? if that is allowed there may be a taker for him if the team trading for him only has to pay and retain a cap hit of 1.5 million or whatever

I cannot this strategy if you want to call it that as being sustainable. I expect neuvy to continue to play well, but my god we need to compete on the pp and generate at least a goal to help him. Except for neuvy the team was embarrassing last night
