Our focus should be on a top 4 D or 2.
Mathews & a sniper is also a need. - Nighthawk
Hopefully they draft in the top 3 to get an impact forward.
Sign Erickson for top 6 role
Sign McGinn for middle 6 role.
Sign Martin for bottom 6 role.
Trade Dorsett (plus a pick of course) for other assets.
Then put together a package to acquire a legitimate top 4 RH D who can run a power play and shoot the puck.
Upgrades top line scoring, power play, secondary scoring, bottom six offense, team grit, and defence. If Horvat, Baertschi, Virtanen, Hutton and Tryamkin all continue to develop at the rate they did this past season, then with a December coaching change and a little bit of luck with injuries they're likely a playoff team next year. |

Thats a nice wish list indeed.😂👍🏻
After a top 3 pick i hope we OS Lindholm win or lose. 1 top 4 D would go a long ways.
As for 3 UFA wingers idk about that n much depends on moving contracts.
I'd be happy with Eriksson & M Martin but again its all about who is moved. |

Preview of draft: "Canucks trade for Clayton Stoner" - Benning:"We believe like y'know he can be a top 4 guy for us. He's good in scrums"
https://twitter.com/taj19...status/722540406072811524
So who is this guy and does he have status as in the loop, like Tony G or Botchford?? - Makita
It's a 420 story. |

It is 4/20. This discussion should never be brought up again.

Excited for Horvat next year. I expect 60 points. |

We can't spend years ragging on the Leafs for trying quick fixes and then advocate them for ourself. |

if we get a top pick in this draft and another top 10 next year, it will be time to add players then. Oilers type rebuild with no established players is just horrible. |

This is halarious , about a week ago I was hoping to myself that Canucks would go after Stoner.

Don't add players until you're ready for the playoffs or until you identify the major holes in the line up.. |

Apparently to get Demko to sign his ELC Benning had to throw in next years 6th round pick. |

Miller's got to go. What's the point?
Does he provide stability in goaltending? No.
Does he come across as a positive role model in the room, a real team player? No.
Does he have a future with the canucks, will he be there when they eventually become competitive? No.
Does his departure represent another huge hole in the lineup that can't be filled with others, whether in the system, trade, or free agency? No.
Is he overpaid for the role he plays? Yes.
Does his presence restrict other players from developing? Yes
Is his age an issue and will injuries be inevitable? Yes
Is his role on the canucks redundant? Yes. - bloatedmosquito
I agree with most of this but he is not restricting development. Markstrom played enough games. It's not like AV where all season long the back up was getting every 9 or 10th game and the more frequent he played, the worse he got. I expect he'll get more games next season if Miller is still here. I expect all GT's to be back ups before they become the #1.

Do these commentators on the FLA & NYI game tonight realize how truly embarrassing they are representing live hockey nationwide? Really! |

I'm with u on that but i see a playoff spot there for the taking.
I cannot see us as a bottom 10 team next year. I could be wrong though.
Therefore 1-2 smart signings at a good term & price i am open to.
Only a few UFA's r on my list & fine it we don't make much of a splash also. |

At least he managed to maintain the infamous second round pick this time around. |

This is my opinion only , everyone can have their own vision. I think you build winners by draft and develop, smart trades , and smart UFA pick ups. The Bruins Kings and Hawks do all three . Teams like TO and Oilers rely on draft. |
|
|
|
I still hope Benning goes after Quinnipac goalie |
