You may have missed his post when he told eveyone that he & Vantel are superior talent assessors and we should be paying more attention to them.
Vantel requested that he not be included. |

We can't spend years ragging on the Leafs for trying quick fixes and then advocate them for ourself. - A_SteamingLombardi
No winky face? So just to be clear, you're suggesting the Canucks shouldn't try to improve the team using all available options including free agency? Are you saying they need to be only as competitive as the players currently in their system or the ones they've drafted allow?
The Leafs tried to continually appease their market by attempting to sign the highest profile free agent available. It was always all about creating buzz and revenue generation in the pre-season rather than improving the on-ice product.
I'm not suggesting the Canucks go all out to sign Stamkos. But they were terrible this past season and if you want the younger players to develop in a winning environment instead of becoming Oilers West, then improvements are needed up and down the roster now. |

I think with the editions of one of the top three, in the immediate future, Louis Eriksson and a much better defensive core, they'll be a much better team next year.
If they stay healthy. |

The Canucks should be active in free agency but the age/ term should be right. I don't mind over paying as long as we aren't locked into a 6 year contract where the player will be 35 at the end. We need to strategically build for a competitive team 3-5 years down the road.

Exactly, a good example was Cracknell from last year. A good serviceable player in the role but was moveable for McCann to enter the lineup, and eventually Granlund was added. The priority is to get younger and as much as it would benefit to add good established players, the pathway needs to be clear for the new core within the next few years |

I dont think the Ducks are done, but the other two I would say so. If ANA loses tonight, I would concede, but if they win they could take it in 6 |
