Well, a leak-proof roof would be nice, but my feeling is that if a car gets you from Point A to Point B (and occasionally to Point C) and does so reliably, it's a fine car. I drive a 2005 Civic and, although it's starting to give me some crap, it does the job just fine after 225,000 miles.

Totally agree.. Right now my wife and I have a Kia Sorrento (we got it when we had the baby) and a Hyundai Elantra. The Sorrento is nice, but that is the family car... The Elantra is a beast. That thing has been through hell and back and purrs. Probably shouldnt purr, but she does.

I hear Maricopa is nice. Honestly, if you're not attending U of A, in the witness protection plan or just waiting to die, why does anyone live in Tucson?

It's cheap, the sun shines all year, and the temperatures are amazing for 8 months.

I moved here from NYC to be with my girlfriend, who is from Tucson. It's actually a really cool little town, and way better than the horrible, urban sprawl that is Phoenix. The only downside is I don't get ice time outside of my 10 games from September to December. I lugged my equipment to Philly in January to play for two hours with my buddies, that's how hard up I am.

After the season, you should sit down with the rosters and prospects from the Leafs and the Flyers and take a good hard look at our core and our prospects vs the Leafs who have a couple good players on their roster and a ton of prospects.

I'm not sure, especially after this draft, who's team is better off.

This series combined with the last 10 games of the season have really shaken my belief that our forward core is worth anything close to what we're paying them. Our pitiful defense has out performed them in this series and that should be a huge concern for everyone who posts on this thread.

I'd say we shouldn't consider ourselves in such better shape than the Leafs. They may be the worst team in the league this year but in 5 years we could easily be right where we are now looking up at them.

I think Hextall can get us there but he has more work ahead of him than I think most Flyer fans know.

We also need to let Hakstol hire a new staff this season coming.

Good points. What I put faith in is that Hexy is trying to get us out of cap hell while accumulating picks like crazy. Consider this, in years past, prospects and picks would have flown out the door at the deadline looking for a quick fix. Not now. Hexy knows that the core need better depth around them. Does this mean that he won't make a hockey deal to get better that might include a jake, cooter schenn? I don't think so.

I also temper this destruction as being partly due to a very good opponent. I know Richards is a shell of his former self, but he can still be a decent player, and he's a 4th line checker and pk guy. They have depth.

In 5 years we could be the worst team in the league, or we could have a Cup. No way of predicting the future, but last place is about the last thing we project to be in 5 years.

I drove a 1993 Honda Accord 290,000 miles.

Drove a 2000 F150 Lariat to 165,000 miles.

Currently drive a 2013 F150 At 95,000 miles.

Wife drove an Acura RSX to 60k before it was run down.
She drove a Hyndai Elantra till 45k miles before it died.
The latest was a 2010 Corolla that was totalled 6 days after I bought it. Put 3000 down and lost every penny of it.

My wife no longer drives. Lol

Something like 50 billion in fraud every year. You can sell your ebt card for roughly 55-65% the amount on it. I know people I've worked with that have separated from their wives in order to do it but not really leave the wife.

Imagine how easy it would be to provide for those who really do need assistance if they even made an effort to root out the fraud. But they never will.

There's no way Streit is trade-able - at all. The way he's regressed this season, his injuries, um hello - his AGE and his contract. He's basically a PP specialist that isn't that special anymore. I respect the experience and the years of service but he's more of a hinder than a help at this point (next season as well). Same goes for Schultz IMO although Schultz's contract isn't as gnarly as Streit's and Schultz can still do some nice yeoman's defensive work in front of the net, clearing the slot, bodying people and of course blocking shots.

Puck retrieval, speed, passing, knowing when to pinch and effectively doing so, actually getting pucks through and on goal - etc. These are the elements that the Flyers need. It also helps inject some offense to the their forward corps.

Streit looks dunzo to me.

The Sorrento was the first new car I ever bought. Its nice.. 2014.

The Elantra is a 2011 so first year of the new body. Had a Jeep Grand Cherokee before the Sorrento. Love the Sorrento.

I think watching this series and trying to draw meaningful conclusions on the direction of the Flyers this year is probably a mistake.

It has become a political issue. Once something becomes a political issue it no longer exists in reality. Like voter fraud. It happens but everyone denies it.

My wife went to grab a few things from the grocery store with my buddies wife one night.

My buddy and I were shooting the poop, drinking and just watching a hockey game. An hour and 15 minutes goes by.. they still arent home. So I call my wife and she answers the phone by saying "Please dont kill me."

She some how ended up driving up on to the parking lot divider strips with the bushes and grass and all. Got the Elantra stuck on it, resting on the frame..
