This is nowhere near as bad as 2001 or 2006, when they expected to romp & got destroyed by Buffalo. They were playing with house money. Going home even isn't the worst thing to happen

You always have a good pulse on your team. Is this the right Coach or can you upgrade at some point ?

Idiot fans are an embarrassment to the franchise. It's not the referees' fault that PEB drove Orlov into the boards head first. I'm sure he didn't intend to hurt the guy, but he was reckless and deserved to get booted form the game.

I wasn't deluded enough to think the Flyers were going to win this series (I am actually stunned they made the post season). The Caps have that "team of destiny" feel right now and I think they will win the Cup. I'm not that upset they lost, even though it was a bad loss. It's simply illustrative of what this team needs. Question: If there were an expansion draft today and you could protect only 8 players, any position, what Flyer D-man other than Ghost would you protect? I can't think of one.

Streit was a great signing and has been a workhorse for this team, but he's fallen off a cliff this season. He can't chase down pucks anymore, and his blast from the point barely reaches the net now. Gudas has played above his pay grade at times but is a penalty magnet. Schultz is a class guy and may be worth keeping as a 5-6, but he's really just a locker room guy now. Del Zotto has played well at times and should play out his contract at least. AMac... no need to waste more breath on that fiasco.

I'd consider buying out Streit and Umby and let most of the UFAs and RFAs walk. There are some decent character guys in the lower ranks, but character doesn't put pucks in nets.

It's a reverse psychology thing. I don't care, I really wanted to see the Caps sweat a little but when the Flyers got down a few I kind of smiled & said "F it, pour it on."

Streit has only one year left on his contract and still has enough leadership value to play out the deal or be moved at deadline next season. Umberger, however, is likely to bought out this summer (despite having one remaining season).

The fans were an absolute disgrace tonight. It started with an idiot yelling F Pittsburgh during the moment of Silence for Mr Snider and continued in the third. Learn the rules you morons. Drunk and stupid is no way to go through life.

If you want to smoke weed, get drunk and generally be an a$$hole, just stay home. There are good fans who want t enjoy the game.

Rant over.

My comment was in regards to the Flyers play. Not the wristbands.

Rough. The 3rd and 4th lines carried the play while G and Jake aren't doing nearly enough. And yes, it's easy for the Caps to focus on them, but no matter what, it's still a 5v5 game and G and Jake are getting outplayed. And let's not even talk about the "man advantage".

2 games, 2 weak goals from Mason. Sure, it was a nasty shot from OV, but you can't give that up in the playoffs, especially in a tied game when you're already down 2.

Still, it is what it is, and this team needs some work. And this series is done.

On the bright side, Laughton looked good in limited action; Gagner, Cousins and Raffl looked solid and played like they wanted to win.

Think Wilson gets suspended for the apparent elbow to Jake's head? (I haven't seen a replay, but it sure looked like a deliberate head shot.)

If they were smoking weed, they probably wouldn't have made it to the game at all...

Just came from the game. Wristband throwing was embarrassing. On a better note, once the idiots and fair weather fans left, remaining few thousands started chanting "let's go flyers" to show team support. It was 1-6 at that time.

Ghost looks spent and Streit doesn't look much better. No shots getting to the net from those 2 on the PP. Not good.

It's been a fun ride. They seem like the are on empty. It would be nice to see them grind out a win on Wednesday and avoid the sweep at home.
