Posted this earlier. For your reference as you Kadri, Bernier and jvr make turn and start the back nine. Cheers!

Here's the thing. In recent year, ESPN did an analysis which had the Leafs as the worst franchise in all of the major four NA sports. The WORST?? Because of cost of tickets, loyal following and EPIC futility. I can't take them seriously when they come on and troll. The hockey news did something as well a few years back that catalogued it all.. it's amazing really. Not only have they had a huge cup drought, they've not been to the Final once, recently went an entire CBA without making the playoffs (only team to do so), they've also had no major award winners to speak of for eons. Harold Ballard, John Ferguson Jr, Raycroft trade, Kessel trade and on and on and on.

In comparison to the Flyers? Since 67, 2 cups, 6 other final appearances, Vezinas, Conn Smythes, President's trophy, harts, and a 5-1 head to head playoff record all time.

Let's just say this. If I was Leafs fan I would have stopped watching them a long time ago, and many of my friends who are have done so. The ones who still say they are fans have two teams. The Leafs and a playoff team to cheer for. I kid you not. If that doesn't say it all, what does?

Awesome hockey source.

I'm just kidding guys, I actually really like the Flyers.
Shame about the incident at the game last night.
A few idiots make the city and the fanbase look bad.

Finished the front 9.
Waiting to play with the Flyers on the back.

Albeit with a way better draft pick!

Best last place team ever!!!

That's all I hear from Toronto radio and podcasts. I've never seen an angry fan base mollified so quickly and easily. You guys have rolled over like I've never seen. I've seen fans root for losing but I don't think I've ever seen fans so happy with the performance of a last place team.

It doesn't seem like the fan base (not you particularly) even knows the team sucks. I hear the words "structure" and "effort" all the time. I hear them talk about how much worse all these other teams are than the Leafs. I don't get it. I've listened and watched it happen and I still don't get it.

So by the sound of it, you're pretty well off (congrats on a whole computer!!!!). Why do you troll blog sites at mid-afternoon? Perks of being well off? Or perks of being off for the day while mom is at work?

I know. I honestly thought the same thing after I posted the computer part!

She's dead.
I moved out when I was 16.
My basement has a wine cellar, a computer, a putting green and an 83" tv.

I'll survive but thanks for asking.

Sorry bout your mom... If it makes you feel better we probably are prepping to take the leafs place as worst thing ever... We'll see... IF you guys take our spot as coming close but no cigar, year in and year put, remember, parades are nice but sucking all season just blows... But you guys should remember that right?!

I actually think they are doing it correctly now. The issue is they need to pray they don't turn into the Oilers with a 10 year rebuild with no end in sight.

As much as the Flyers are getting creamed, I think it's necessary growing pains. I think a lot of Oilers fans would love to have made the dance and seen some progress. We're rebuilding with a decent core, and still making the playoffs thereby speeding up the process. Good by me.

I am 90% sure those bracelets are from the Coldplay tour from 2-3 years ago. Remember seeing all the photos of the crowd light show.
- arichardson22

My sis said she has same ones from a Taylor Swift concert... I kept thinking about the marketing guy who came up with the idea to use them last night. I could imagine him high fiving other execs after that Raffl goal only to be slipping out a side door when the bracelets came raining down on the ice.

It's not a sign of a bad person, but it does raise an eyebrow as to questionable priorities. If these people with the 100" LED HDTV are living in section 8 housing, then they need to re-evaluate.

To be completely truthful here, the Flyers organization has brought this whole thing on themselves.

When I first got my season tickets almost 30 years ago the seats in the Spectrum were mostly owned by families. Yes there were shared corporate seats down stairs but they were random. Corporate seating wasn't given a priority or encouraged by increasing ticket prices to the point where a upper middle class family couldn't afford to maintain their tickets without grouping together with 3 or more other families.

Today, monthly payments down stairs for two or more tickets are greater than the monthly payment on a luxury car. Two seats in the last row at the end of the building are more than most families car payment on a good used car.

There were rarely things thrown on the ice at the Spectrum. If someone threw something on the ice half of the section would stand up and point at the person who did it. That's just a fact.

I'd be willing to bet that on most nights 60%+ of the butts in the seats never made a ticket payment to the hockey club. They aren't invested in the team or the arena experience for the players, the fans next to them or the team in general. Their seats were either given to them (who cares, the seats were free) or scalped (I paid $400 for these seats, I'll do what I want).

You reap what you sow.

After the season, you should sit down with the rosters and prospects from the Leafs and the Flyers and take a good hard look at our core and our prospects vs the Leafs who have a couple good players on their roster and a ton of prospects.

I'm not sure, especially after this draft, who's team is better off.

This series combined with the last 10 games of the season have really shaken my belief that our forward core is worth anything close to what we're paying them. Our pitiful defense has out performed them in this series and that should be a huge concern for everyone who posts on this thread.

Might fall into the dreaded Oilers trap. Too bad they've destroyed Bernier. I thought he was decent in his first year with the club.

I'm also a little puzzled by an article I read (I think it was the one linked by your referee) that stated fans should have kept them as souvenirs.

Like, what the hell are you going to do with it?

I think you are looking at it very glass half empty...more like glass is almost completely empty

I think the Maple Leafs are definitely on the right track...and could add a very impressive forward. But outside of 4 guys, they have no real track record of sustained NHL success. We have a more talented D prospect, and we have more d prospects with greater talent. Until they actually win something I wont be jealous of them at all. We have assembled a prospect pool that is on par with theirs and have tanked 0 years and sold only once

Not to bring it back to the fanbase, etc; but I feel compelled. If this was a 3-2 loss or something that wasn't a shellacking, I don't think those bracelets come down. Then again, if they didn't give out the bracelets; I also don't think fans are grabbing the closest thing (hot dog, tshirts, etc) either. It just seemed like a perfect storm of:
A.) This team is playing god-awfully right now
B.) Why the hell would I bring this bracelet home?
C.) I can't hold my liquor and just paid $120 to get drunk.
D.) I'm too scared to think for myself and do much better in a mob mentality.

In most instances, adding "re" to a word means to do it again (i.e. "rerun", "retool", "rework"). However, the word "liable" describes something that is a hinderance or detriment, and the word "reliable" describes something that you can count on in a time of need. Shouldn't one of them be "unliable" instead?

Your deep thought for the day.

The leafs are starting to build it correctly, but I'm pretty sure that with the prospects we have and the mass amount of picks we have this draft were on the path as well. I'm not sure about the core either, but I suspect that if we don't surround the forwards with 4th liners and d prospects with guys better slotted in the 5 6 hole, we'd see a better result. No guarantees, but I believe that's the plan

I'll also note that the pp and pk have me worried.
