I despise Lucic. He's just as big a douche as he's always been, and now in a UFA year he's going to be a really expensive douche. He's going to be looking for a lot more than the 3.25M he made this year. No thanks.
- Doc_Sarcasm

Someone will give him 7 years X $6 million.

Oh, please Lord, let it be someone other than the Leafs.

Anyone willing to package picks/D prospects to move up into the top 5 of the draft?
- nails

I'd dangle the 1st and Laughton to see how far it gets you. Definitely not top 5 but maybe top 10

I don't know.

Unless your in the top 3 I am not sure there is that much of a drop from 4-20.

Where the Flyers are I wouldn't mind getting someone like Max Jones. Guys like Keiffer Bellows, Jones and Logan Brown will probably be available around where they pick

More embarrassing than the stupid Pens fan who yelled F the Flyers, because he was a PENS fan so what did we expect.

Apparently the FLA moment of silence was crappy as well. (A friend of my from NYR fandom was appalled.) I know TB was very nice and respectful.

I wish we could have actual minutes of silence like they do in the UK. Where it is silent from whistle to whistle (ref times it).

Speaking of refs. Now that we know how often line calls are wrong, how about we dispense with replays and acknowledge it's a crap shoot?

- bodiva88

the capitals moment of silence was very respectful. meanwhile we have to have the couple idiots here. I cringed.

I was thinking about how many offsides have been called wrong the other day. the close ones I get. its a fast game. Leon Stickle calls are another story

all about priorities.
if they pay their bills, aren't criminals, and treat their kids/each other right, i won't judge.

It's not a sign of a bad person, but it does raise an eyebrow as to questionable priorities. If these people with the 100" LED HDTV are living in section 8 housing, then they need to re-evaluate.

I don't know much on the mid-round guys, but agree about the top 3. If they could do 2016 1st, 2016 2nd, Laughton, and Sanheim to get to #3, would you?

I was shocked when Kadri got the term that he did. So, I guess its possible.

Still, I find it hard to believe that the Leafs will totally abandon the fiscal sanity that they've embraced over the past year or so, but they might.

But, you're right. SOMEONE will give Lucic money and term. He's a big, physical, aggressive player who can be relied on to put up 20 goals a season. Thats something.

BTW....did they end up playing that star wars playoff pump at all last night?
- Corporate_hater

Not that I saw. They used 2 of the previous pump videos during the second and third period restarts which I thought was cool.

That #4 could be a good winger. something they desperately need.
If they could get at least to 4, I would consider moving one of the D prospects not named Ivan.

No, it's a bad person

More often than not, it's these people that don't know what a hard days work is. If you remember how hard it was to make that dollar, you would be more hesitant on spending it frivolously. But, if you really enjoy your TV, by all means, have at it, but don't pop out kids just for the gob'ment kickbacks. But I digress...How 'bout them Flyers?

The weird thing about the Leafs right now is they've finally got some young guys to bring up, who are all going to be on ELCs.

It makes for a lot of cap space for the next few years, which of course scares the living hell out of me.

I don't know.

Still mixed on Sanheim until I see him in AHL. I would be ok moving Laughton in the right deal.

Also depends who is in the top 3.

Just say Edmonton is number 2. Would you offer Simmonds for number 2 and Drasitel? Draft Laine at 2 then.

Not enough?

I think Simmonds would be perfect for Edmonton. Would you add a d prospect like Hagg?

I'm sure they didn't have any "Ed Snider specific" bracelets, but they were handed out at last night's game (as opposed to any other Flyers game ever) for part of an interactive light show mean to honor him, as was my understanding.
- jmatchett383

Lol. I assure you, an interactive light show has nothing to do with honoring your recently deceased owner. They were handed out specifically at last night's game because they knew it'd be a sold out game and they wanted to see how the bracelets worked in a lively environment.

Regardless, the two occurrences (Snider tribute + bracelet throwing) will forever be tied together.

Considering their history, I can see why you would feel that way. As something of a neutral observer (my residual hatred for the Tucker/Domi era Leafs having dissipated a bit by now), I'm watching to see which way they go. Do they throw big money out there on a Lucic? Do they take the chance on Stamkos? Do they continue to add young, cheap pieces who they can keep for several years?

As a Flyer fan, the fewer teams that practice fiscal sanity, they better for my chances of seeing the Cup finally come back to Philly. Its going to be interesting. The cap isnt going to move up much, defensemen are still overpriced, and so are impact UFAs, and we may be looking at expansion after next season.

I hope our scouts know who they drafted or both of these teams are going to blow for years to come because the eggs are all in the basket and we better hatch out more roosters than hens.

The fans were an absolute disgrace tonight. It started with an idiot yelling F Pittsburgh during the moment of Silence for Mr Snider and continued in the third. Learn the rules you morons. Drunk and stupid is no way to go through life.

If you want to smoke weed, get drunk and generally be an a$$hole, just stay home. There are good fans who want t enjoy the game.

Rant over.

Did not see the game last night but in a way I can understand the Flyer Fans frustrations. I mean personally I feel the refs are always one sided and get this directly from the NHL. REgardless this game is full of emotion and and from time to time we let our frsutrations out in different ways. I am sure all of us have thrown things in our houses when we are frustrated over a game. It is the same thing here. The Capitals have always frustrated me especially playing them last year and they take a lot of liberties with some questionable hits. I mean teh series is not over yet anything can happen but you just hope to move forward come out flying and taking it one game at a time
