His actions after the play lead me to believe it was totally accidental. he seemed concerned about Orlov. that said, it was very careless and would understand him being suspended for game 4.
- nastyflyergirl

Oh he's absolutely not a player who head hunts or goes looking to hurt people. I feel bad for Orlov and for Belly.

Double vision makes intentionally catching anything a no-win proposition for me. Thanks for the ever so clever response.

Everything about that game was a disgrace. The fans (not all of them, but the ones who threw the wristbands/did nothing to stop them) were a disgrace. the team was a disgrace. There was not one good thing to say about last night.

Edit: If anyone of this site threw a wristband, please resign as a fan.

How different is this series with Coots?

What about with Coots and MDZ?

Not making excuses, just curious if people think those two play a pivotal role. I don't think having Coots on the PK help much, maybe take away 1 or 2 goals.

MDZ would help limit the other guys' minutes. Maybe MDZ on the PP could generate some more opportunities, although no one is really knocking PP2 to begin with.

I dunno, I think this Flyers' team at full strength would still be in the same hole. The Flyers are just gassed. I mean, in all 3 games; they've looked strong in Period 1 and serviceable in Period 2. It's the third where you can see that they're skating through quicksand.

Lastly, did we has over Trotz's comments? Bulletin board material?

“I just thought it wasn’t good for the game. Plain and simple,” Caps coach Barry Trotz said after the game. “We were on national television. I don’t think it displays our game very well. You never want to see that. That’s … it is what it is. I really don’t have any comment on it. Anything good, anyways.”

“We pulled the game away and they weren’t interested in playing anymore,” Trotz continued. “And so we ended up on the power play for the last seven or eight minutes.”

Here's the difference:

When idiots are idiots at Toronto games, there's condemnation. And there's consequences.

Case in point: the waffle thrower.

Yeah, no idea what the hell the guy was thinking, but when he threw waffles on the ice, not only was he charged, but MLSEL banned him from all MLSEL buildings:

http://www.thehockeynews....arge-trespass-notice.html

Same goes for the jersey throwers.

It just seems that when a percentage of Philly fans (the same percentage as any other fan base) act like idiots, not only is it accepted by the owners, it's worn as a weird badge of pride. They embrace the reputation.

Never ever.

And that stuff didn't all make it to the ice. I have the bruise on my arm (thankfully not my head) to show for it.

That's my impression as well
I think he has earned a spot on the team for the short term future
A 2 or even 3 yr deal would be great, but under 3M per yr hopefully.

I'd be fine with that.

Our ticket agreement says they have the right to revoke our tickets and ban anyone caught doing so. I questioned it further when I was talking with my rep to get locked in for next year (changed from partial to full season) and he stated they recommend using StubHub to sell any unwanted tickets if you want to sell them since StubHub informs the Flyers of seats that were sold.

I only mentioned those two incidents in Toronto earlier because they stuck in my head. I mean who brings waffles to a hockey game???? And I damn sure ain't throwing a jersey I paid my hard earned money to purchase.

How many bracelets even ended up on the ice in a building of nearly 20,000? This is getting blown far out of proportion.
- hereticpride

a couple hundred too many and the play had to be stopped several times. sorry its not acceptable behavior and the fact people just say its acceptable just makes me shake my head.

More embarrassing than the stupid Pens fan who yelled F the Flyers, because he was a PENS fan so what did we expect.

Apparently the FLA moment of silence was crappy as well. (A friend of my from NYR fandom was appalled.) I know TB was very nice and respectful.

I wish we could have actual minutes of silence like they do in the UK. Where it is silent from whistle to whistle (ref times it).

Speaking of refs. Now that we know how often line calls are wrong, how about we dispense with replays and acknowledge it's a crap shoot?

I doubt Hexy signs him to some big extension. Would be better off to wait until he reaches UFA then make a decision.
- PhillySportsGuy

I would see what his value is at the draft. Can you get a deal like Vancouver got for Schneider? Calgary has been looking for a goaltender for a couple years now.

Maybe they just run Neuvirth and Mason next season and whoever plays better stays and the other one is moved at the draft?

I just am leery of 6 million for a goalie.

Yeah, it's not at all acceptable. It was "only" about 100 I guessed at the time. so less than 1%, but enough to endanger everyone on and off the ice and enough to make me wonder why I didn't see a single security person or usher talking to a single miscreant.

I'm fine with the offsides replays. Players will adjust and make sure they have their skates on the ice. I would want a more definitive ruling on goaltender interference though.

I just think they need to do something different with it. I'm not sure how to word/enforce/rule on it, but it has to be something more definitive, maybe say more than 1 skate length offsides or something. The spirit of the rule and the black-and-white wording are totally different.

On a similar note, they updated icing years ago where an attempted pass that misses was not considered icing. Not sure when they got rid of that, because it seems that most icings nowadays are players misfiring/mishandling a pass as opposed to players just throwing the puck down the ice. I'd like that revisited, as well.

He isn't getting $6M from the Flyers and he isn't getting the Flyers a top 10 pick like Schneider. The market for goalies has been really weak. I'm not even sure a team trades a late 1st rounder for 1 year of Mason.

So, let me just ask you this:

If everyone that was a STH had sold their ticket, and everyone had thrown their wristband, you would dissolve every season ticket holder license, even though no season ticket holders were present?

Because "life sucks?"

- jmatchett383

Also just because a bracelet to a seat was thrown doesn't mean someone sitting in said seat threw it.[img][/img]

So have we abandoned the long term view and tempered expectations after these last 3 games? Sure it sucks they lost three straight the way we have, but that's the only thing I'm frustrated with. I'm still proud of the run they went on. I wish G and Voracek could have stepped up a little more. Ghost is obviously hurting or gassed. He hasn't looked the same.

I'm just hoping to have one good game tomorrow and avoid the sweep at home.

- funmaster18

it blows my mind people are saying they should have traded assets to pick up a player or two (like that would have made a difference) and they should blow up the team. a week ago we were playing with house money and now because they are about to lose to a team most of us expected to lose to the sky is falling. My god.

you simply are not going to win a 7 game series without depth. did I expect better than being outscored 13-2? absolutely. but I didn't expect to win. I'm glad they made it and the players are getting the experience and I hope the ass kicking is in their guts all summer long. I believe in the direction Hextall is taking the organization. For once I feel like we have a GM with a real plan who isn't interested in just patch working things.
