Bending over your season ticket holders in a gate driven league is probably not a great business policy.
- johndewar

Those newly available seats would be bought up quite quickly.
Added bonus: Hey, look, they Flyers don't want scumbags in the stands. Sounds like a great place to watch a game.

Yep, it would suck.

So, let me just ask you this:

If everyone that was a STH had sold their ticket, and everyone had thrown their wristband, you would dissolve every season ticket holder license, even though no season ticket holders were present?

Because "life sucks?"

Well if I loan my car to a friend and they crash into someone it's my insurance that pays the price. The driver insurance is secondary.
- J35Bacher

Yes...and that has nothing to do with your license.

one series win in 5 years as "the core"...but hey.....if that is what you call "success", Ill accept that. Good luck in future seasons.

No harm done.

- Ripped Fuel

One series win in 5 years is something Sabres fans will begin to start creaming themselves over. What have you added to this thread at all besides spewing stupid suggestions of trading people. You dont know who the true core of the Flyers is or what will happen when they are done carrying the weight of all the crap that has been forced into the lineup. Dont worry, Hextall can turn it around...he just needs to follow the Terry Murray model and give out first rounders for average goaltenders. Brilliant!

Cool, we'll show that college kid who saved up tips to but a playoff ticket! Sorry, bud.

I have to assume you're joking at this point, because this is just a horrible idea based on nothing.

Nice extreme example, but actions have consequences. If you can't behave in my house, you're not welcome in my house. If your friends can't behave in my house, they're not welcome either. If I invite you to my house but you send a friend of yours as a proxy and he can't behave in my house, neither of you are welcome.

Yes, it is the extreme example.

I'm just gonna vehemently disagree and say I think this is the most outlandish idea I've heard on the matter and leave it at that.

Okay, fine. Identify the seats and "temporarily" suspend the season ticket holder's access until such time as they can satisfactorily explain why they threw the bracelet, or why their proxy did. If you sway me, you can have your tickets back. Otherwise, I'll sell them to someone else. My house, my rules.

My brother works for an airline. He can put friends and family on a list to fly under his privileges. When we fly we must dress appropriately and also follow all the rules or he loses his benefits with flying. We are a representative of the person.

I have a family member who works for a hotel chain and can get us some very substantial discounts. Same deal. We screw up, they pay the price.

How many bracelets even ended up on the ice in a building of nearly 20,000? This is getting blown far out of proportion.

A little while ago they had Danny Briere on the radio.
He said there is great value in having the young players experience what it feels like to win a playoff game. So there is something to play for in game 4.

He commented on the bracelet throwing. He said players understand what it's like to be booed when they play bad. What as a player they hate is getting a penalty called because of fan behavior. Guys like Schultz and Gudas are out there blocking shots when it's already 5-1 and then the fans extend the PP. Blocking OVs one timer is no joke and puts these guys in danger.

I love Danny. His playoff performance was the definition of clutch. A guy his size finding ways to score and make a difference. Seeing how tough it is right now to get any space. Really appreciate more what Briere accomplished.

He gives credit to how tight the Caps D has been. He's 100% right on these things.

I have a deep rooted connection to this team. I'm sure most of us on this site do.

I don't know about you guys, but tonight- just this one night- I wish I didn't. This is just so utterly awful...demoralizing.

The fans and players turned a night to honor Mr. Snider into one that'll live in infamy in Flyerdom.

You can't get too down about a few idiots in the stands and a gassed team. It felt the same way in 2001 when the Sabers eliminated the Flyers by blowing them off off the ice 8-0. In 2002 the Flyers scored all of 2 goals in the entire series as Ottawa eliminated them 4 games to 1. The 2002 series was particularly lousy because the highly paid stars on the Flyers showed up. They weren't particularly gassed like the current group either. They just didn't come to play. The current crew is giving effort. They are just out matched and out of gas.

I am proud of the way this team cam together. This year's playoffs will be a lesson. They should have a Gibraltar sized chip on their shoulder next season.

As far as the stupid fans...what can be done? Every franchise has them (except maybe the Devils or the Pens when times are hard...you have to actually have fans to have stupid fans). It will be blown up in the media for a few days because it is a convenient trope for writers like Sieleski. Then we move on. I am actually quite interested to see what happens this summer. Of course I'd love for the Flyers to go all 2010 now and push that summer business back.

Hilarious that people are suggesting to blow it up when the Flyers have arguably outplayed the Capitals at even strength. Shooting and Save % do wonderful things.

The facts are that there is not a single team in the NHL that would win a series with the same lopsided numbers on special teams. Not one. It is a dagger, candle stick, rope, machine gun...whatever you want to call it. Special teams have blown a hole in the series and the fact that the Flyers aren't doing anything besides sit back and let the Caps continue to take shots is extremely frustrating.

I refuse to let it hide the fact that at even strength, the Flyers are doing more than holding on. They are getting good chances they just cannot get Holtby out of position often enough. They showed a lot of pride and heart pushing into the playoffs as well, so to act like they just got in and rolled over is laughable. This team has its flaws, and they are being exploited to the max. It doesn't change the fact that this team has brought us all more entertainment and joy this year than we all expected. I am sure they will learn, they will adjust, they may get new personnel and coaching, and will come back stronger.

I would have to disagree. As much as some of you say that it's better that the young players and coach take this as a learning experience, I think you put too much emphasis on that. I would have been perfectly fine missing the playoffs going out on a high note with how they played down the stretch than go thru this embarrassment. Then again, hindsight is 20/20.

Some people enjoy it when their team makes playoffs.. Others don't. Would you have preferred they not even make the season entertaining and call it quits back in December?

So have we abandoned the long term view and tempered expectations after these last 3 games? Sure it sucks they lost three straight the way we have, but that's the only thing I'm frustrated with. I'm still proud of the run they went on. I wish G and Voracek could have stepped up a little more. Ghost is obviously hurting or gassed. He hasn't looked the same.

I'm just hoping to have one good game tomorrow and avoid the sweep at home.

Does anyone think there will be changes to the assistants?

The PP seems to have gotten stagnate these past two years and the PK hasn't seemed to improve?

What they can blow up is the veteran non-core players on this team. Time to move forward. Read, Umberger, Streit, AMac. I want three if not all of them off the team next year.
