Special teams for sure, defence more so. We have 7 natural centers on our starting roster who were trained their entire career to be the first forwards back and act as a safety when our d pinch to keep the puck in and yet if you watch closely our d never hold the line and it results in no sustained offensive end play and we are the easiest team in the league to break out against. Allow more d pinching and it will lead to more success - tocchettough
It's one of the reasons why I'd like to see Medvedev back in the lineup |

I have a map of the United States... Actual size. It says, 'Scale: 1 mile = 1 mile.' I spent last summer folding it. I hardly ever unroll it. |

It would take the Flyers all summer to cover the ice space they let Ovechkin have. |

Gonna be an emotional pre-game at the WFC tonight. Tribute, followed by one last hurrah (hopefully) for the Lauren/Kate duet. Stops pulled out. |

Love me some Steven Wright. Just started getting into Louie and he made a pretty good cameo in an episode. |

I honestly think changing goalies at this point would be an awful idea. In fact, I think it would be the official white flag moment.
Every elite goalie gives up a bad goal. The only reason the Flyers are playing the Caps in the first round, is because of Mason. It would be a slap in his face to switch to Neuvirth. He hasn't played poorly at all.
I understand the need to change momentum etc. However, at this point a change now would come off as gimmicky.

I like when they bring a comedian on stage, they always tell you what else they do. But (frank), this is enough, isn't it? He's here tonight performing, because that is his job! But no, it's gotta be, "He laid bricks in Philadelphia. And he repaired a car in Oklahoma. He has an umbrella store in Philadelphia. That's the only city that comes to mind right now. Philadelphia, 'cause you can say "Philly" and the people from Philadelphia will not get mad. Like if you say "Frisco," San Francisco people say, "(frank) off!" But if you say "Philly" they say, "Alright!" Because I don't always have time to say "Philadelphia." Sometimes I just need that word to be two syllables. Phil-a-del-phi-a. (frank), five! Your town would be called Philly too if it had five syllables! |

They should really be pressuring Backstrom instead of giving him all day to dissect the defense. Every Caps PPG has come off his primary assist - PhillySportsGuy
How people still don't understand he might be the best PP QB in the league is mind-boggling
You have to make him give up the puck. Yeah, it's pick your poison sometimes, but that is one freaking guy you simply cannot let have the puck |

So it would be a slap in the face to switch goalies?
You say the only reason for the Flyers being here is do to Mason?
I remember when Neuvirth was the goalie keeping the Flyers alive early in the reason when Mason wasn't so stellar.
Both goalies have had a part in trying to keep the Flyers in this hunt. I don't worry about slaps in the face. This is a professional sport.
Also I have said this isn't all on Mason or even the bad goal.

Scoring chances at ES
Flyers: 50
Caps 42
High Danger Scoring Chances at ES
Flyers: 18
Caps: 21
Caps have outscored the Flyers 2-1 at ES (not including the Mason gaffe). Both goals came at the end of regulation when the team was trying to force things and allowed an odd man rush the other way.
Other than the 100 foot goal, the Caps haven't scored an ES goal in the first 55 minutes of each game. - PhillySportsGuy

Exactly what teams are doing to Giroux and Gostisbehere.
I would almost look to put Streit at the top of the umbrella and place Gositsbehere in Voracek's spot. See if you can open up the PK box and maybe Streit can get some shots through or open space for Gostisbehere |

I'm comfortable with either goalie. I don't care even a little bit who plays, we just need a win, and for that the Flyers are going to need to start scoring. Gotta bury the puck more than once in two games, especially with all the PP opportunities. The Caps probably have no fear of taking the occasional minor here and there throughout the game, and rightly so, and that allows them to play loose and easy. Gotta win tonight, get in their heads a bit. |

Matt Read has joined my Vandevelde list of a player who does absolutely nothing for me anymore.
Would rather have a Colin McDonald in over Read as at least he can bring some physical play to match the caps. |
