I meant the Players. They say it's 45 minutes to an hour by train. Games days are all day. They train in, practice for a half hour, eat at the rink, have day rooms at a local hotel/motel then head back for the game, train home at the end of the night.
Doesn't sound ideal.
From what I understand most Rangers players chose to live in Manhatten since their HQ, practice rink and home ice are all right there.
The Isles HQ and practice facility are still in Nassau. - mayorofangrytown
I think that will eventually effect their ability to attract free agents. |

Game 7 Stanley cup clinching goal and you can't see it happen. - J35Bacher
I get the hilarity of it all...but TBH there are several seats along the glass that offer terrible views of the actual hockey thats being played |

I thought it was hilarious they had to wait for a stoppage of play so Tavaras could come out after the intermission. I get the old rinks being built like that but why would you build a new arena that doesn't have access to the locker room from the bench? - nastyflyergirl
The Barclays Center was built before they knew a hockey team would be playing in it. Was strictly for the Nets. |

Better at what? Taking penalties that lead to PP goals? Being an anchor on the 1st line?
Overplaying an AHL dman against the best team in the league is working out exactly how you would expect. Terribly. - Feanor
My biggest issue is that Manning, besides playing the most minutes, played 8.5 minutes with G's line. Ghost saw 3.5 minutes with G's line. Let Ghost play with the best players if you want to do damage. That's questionable in-game managing |

I sat in the bottom section of Fenway. If you've ever been there, Fenway has vertical pillars that support the upper deck. From my seats, one corner of the rink was completely hidden. Add in the price of $256/ticket and, yeah, it's the same principle. |

They play a lot of hockey at Fenway do they?
I totally forgot that was the Bruins home arena where they play 42 games a year and not some gimmick.

Dude, what the (frank)? I'm just saying that I have paid a big amount (to me) of money to see a game where I had a very obstructed view. So yes, there were people who paid a lot of money and couldn't see different areas of the ice. It has happened.
The (frank) is your problem? |

I don't disagree.
Imho, Neuvirth improved himself to the level of a legit starter and I have no trepidation about considering them interchangeable. - Scoob
My issue is, Neuvirth went from a .939 in Oct-Dec, and was sub .900 since the start of February. He's got the talent to start, he's just never done it for a full year, as Mason has shown he can.

Nonsense. Dump Mason and sign Neuvirth for 6 years. His 3 month Antero Nittymaki-like streak proves he's a top-10 goalie. |

I think the point that's attempted to be driven home is that the experience of a one-game-only special event at a baseball/football stadium pales in comparison to a season ticket holder's experience at a stadium not equipped for hockey. Not really worth comparing. |

If we're talking season tickets, I agree. But when you say "I couldn't imagine paying any amount of money for a seat where I couldn't see one of the nets," well, I know people at the Winter Classic who did this. Yes, it was just a one-time thing, but people wanted to be there so badly that they did. Sorry to offend MB so horribly. |

I've never seen a game at Franklin Field. I've been to 19 MLB stadiums. Fenway is one of my favorites. Dodger Stadium, and Kauffman Stadium in KC are the two I liked the best. |

The atmosphere is great, I'm sure. The views from the lower deck, not so much. |

I sat in front of a young kid and his Parents going back about 15 years, he had an obstructed view seat. Kid was probably 10. The entire game all he did was female dog he couldn't see. It was pretty amusing.
Also the upper deck overhangs some sections of the lower deck. If a ball gets hit in the air, depending where you are sitting you can't see it. Definitely some bad seats there. |

The Red Wings would have won that game regardless of who played. Mrazek is also better than Howard. Mason is a top 10 goalie. You don't take him out unless he's had a prolonged stretch of poor play. Why would you play a worse player? - PhillySportsGuy
Whether or not Steve Mason is a top 10 goalie I feel is debatable. He's very good and we can win with him but top 10 maybe. |

The fact that he's been able to post the numbers he has with a bottom-10 defense during his entire run here, to me, makes him a top-10 goalie. Put him on a team like Nashville/LA/Tampa Bay and he may be getting Vezina consideration. |

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that both the eye-test and #fancyschmancy analysis show that he is a top-10 goalie. |
